The NHL is a completely different game from the NHL though. And I think that is part of the problem.
Even these guys who get a few AHL years still usually need 2 in the NHL to make that adjustment.
I think that contract Vlasic signed is going to look really really good in a year or two. - fattybeef

Seabs with all the glory, and deserved, but to me that will always my 2nd favorite Dave Bolland play!
KD, you want to win cups, better find your #36

Hes worth maybe a low second rounder at this point - LFS
They already traded that one away, I'd probably do the high 3rd, its probably more chance for success than a 3rd round pick.
Another guy i wonder if was rushed too early, that draft seemingly had a few of those |

Definitely one of my fave moments as a Hawk fan along with 17 seconds and prolly why '13 was my favorite Cup run of the three.
The weirdness of how the 2010 SCF with Philly concluded likely has something to do with it. Didn't have that in the moment instant gratification ending like the two series in '13...though tbf, the refs made the Hawks win the game twice in that Wing series and then they had to play another minute after 17 seconds to truly celebrate.
After the usual Core suspects Bickell, Bolland and Crow were pretty great in that run. |

To demonstrate how goofy the NHL is 2009-2010 is the season that they moved the goal judges upstairs to the press box where they became ref judges. They put the light on when the ref points to the goal. So that's how the absolute height of the season when the cup gets won got all screwed up. To sell more seats of course.

Just crushed Gus along the boards. I think it's a coin flip between that play and his collective work of driving the Sedins and Thornton nuts in 2010.
That 2011 team looked so overmatched vs the Nucks for the first part of that series til they got Bolland back in game 4 (think it was 4). If Sharp only could've one-timed that shot past Lou.
I agree about finding a Bolland. Shaw was kind of that guy in '15. Hoping he scores more than either but I wonder if Nazar can provide some of that role. Doesn't seem to shy away from the physical play and I could see him being chirpy.
Maybe he can do that in more of a top 6 role. |

Interesting and why should the quality of the product get in the way of a little more playoff revenue.
Was just wild how long it took the refs to dig the puck out from underneath the net padding and then for the video review to prove conclusive where you could see the puck cross the line I believe on the first viewing. Kane knew.
Niemi had a decent year that year but has there ever been another Cup final featuring such average net minders? |

I thought that was his second most important contribution of the series. I think his leadership to get Toews back on track was one of the legendary moments that season. - paulr
Seabs was really a clutch player and the de facto captain on those teams. He had 3 playoff overtime goals and also, I believe, made the original shot from the blue line that Kruger knocked in in that multi OT game against Anaheim. |

Yep, watching the replay, Seabs picked it out of the air off the boards on goal, the goalie saved it and before the puck hit the ice, Kruger put it in the net. Truly amazing. |

Savoie may be that type of guy. Hopefully he develops and has the skills to become a NHL player.

Although Seabrook gets lots of acknowledgement from the fan base I still think his contributions to the Cup era are underrated. Seabrook was never as flashy as Keith, Kane, Sharp, Toews or Hossa but his impact in the dressing room (from what we hear) is right up there with Toews, if not greater. While #7 didn't produce as many points as #2, the timeliness of Seabrook's goals were second to none (as you mentioned, he was clutch). |

Here it is. I never realized Seabrook made the point shot while the puck is in the air.

Which is why he got that 6.875M eight year contract near the end of his career. Can you imagine the uproar if Stan didn't extend him and let him walk? |

Wow! Great share! You can really see how that 20 extra lbs of muscle Krugs put on influenced that play 😉
Awesome play by Seabrook. Was at that game at the Joe where he skated to the box and had his talk with Toews. Great moment but could hardly blame the Captain. I get the refs pocket their whistles in the playoffs but the stuff Zetterberg was being allowed to get away with that series and them only calling Toews’ retaliations was maddening.

With the benefit of hindsight, it’s probably what should’ve happened but at that point it wasn’t about breaking up the band.
Still think the marketing dept and the Pres of Ops had a large say in that. The Hawks didn’t learn from the Wings mistake of hanging on to an aging Core and paid a pretty heavy price.
Seems like the Hawk Core other than Kane and Crow aged more rapidly and fell off the cliff skill wise after the Cup and that ‘16 season, where as with the Wings seems their players were a bit older when you could tell the window had closed. |

Was there an announcement within the past week that the NHL will be having its first female coach?
I just happened to be looking at the roster of Coachetta Valley, the Milwaukee Admirals opponent in their current series. I saw Byslma is the heaf coach. Wasn't he just hired to an NHL job this week? I am curious to see his assistant coaches really just because the playoff match has a co.plete breakdown of the game so I look just for a second. And low and behold Bylsma has a female assistant coach
Just curious how acfemale coach interacts with the team. Has to be a unique situation. Does she use a separate locker room? Or only in the team lockeroom.briefly until players disrobe and shower up?
I didn't mind Chellios' daughter on broadcasts but it is another story to picture a lady in the men's locker room. Blood broken bones, players disrobing, swearing, and ladies like just one with a room full of men just seems like there has to be a whole lot of soecial instryctions and rules to make it work.
Keep the men and ladies separate on coaching staffs like it has always been |

Not to brag, but I was at that game, 11 rows off the glass in the corner when Kruger tipped that in. It felt like a home game. That was the one REALLY nice thing about living in CA. Blackhawks playoff tickets for less than half the price. |

I've seen some mock trades that involve Kakko for Reichel, plus or minus draft picks on either side.
I don't think I would make that trade. As frustrated as Reichel's development has been I think the team needs to see things through with #27. I'm in favour of taking a flyer on Kakko, but I wouldn't be willing to over pay for the guy.
Its a long short (probably a very long shot) but Kakko could be this team's Sharp (esque) type of player. |

Anyone still think the Oil are going to win this series? - MartiniMan
I know I said I didn't know who was going to win and I still don't. Oilers can dominate for long stretches but Dallas is pretty resilient and persistent. Good series, and I think none of the final 4 is really decided but I'd give the edge to Florida and Edmonton based on who carries more of the play so far. |

There seem to be a number of guys who could fill that role. Savoie, Ludwinski, Greene, maybe even Slaggert. All seem to play an attacking 200' game and are responsible. I'm sure KD will continue to add more players that fit the same mold. |
