The first thing I notice is Demidov’s innate ability to be where the puck is going to be. Obviously he’s not as dominant against men as he was in his junior league, however he was involved in the play and he battled for puck possession although his game is more about anticipation and reading the play then in battling for pucks. All of his passes were on and he made some passes that make you wonder how he saw the teammate. His skating his very odd, he doesn’t appear slow, and he’s definitely quick but I suspect he’s not a burner. It’s a good clip, but it’s a shame he wasn’t playing regularly in the KHL so we can see his progress.

Memorial Cup Final tonight!! London is a train but Saginaw can hang. They played 10 times in the regular season and London took 6 of them.

One thing about the KHL clips of Demidov shows it's not his ability or skill as to why he's not in the league. Who knows the hows and whys inside Russia but the kid looks to have the ability to have been in the KHL all yr.

Agree, he has crazy high IQ and his reads show that. Using innate as a descriptor is a good one. ..... I'm one who loves his skating cuz along with his reads of opponents it allows him to be elusive at an elite level.. People will say he'll get bodied in the NHL cuz of his skating but I see it as good luck getting solid/square hits on him cuz his skating makes him elusive.

And no, like Bedard he's not a burner. Bedard's IQ is so high that he gets looks and makes himself dangerous because it makes him elusive. Same thing with Demidov except IMO his skating is better for being elusive than Bedards.

Datsyuk. Demidov is a Datsyuk who also was at an elite elusive level and was not a burner, or even had plus speed. Bedard, Demidov and Datsyuk are all elusive, none are burners, all with crazy high IQ/reads, short are quickness but Datsyuk and Demidov have better hands/suck skills than Bedard, IMO of course.

Pretty wild how the Rangers needed the PP to win the first 2 series. 5 on 5 was not so good in any series.

I read that he advised St. Petersburg he wasn’t going to sign long term and in retaliation SKA didn’t give him playing time in the KHL. If true that bodes well for whoever selects him in the draft.

I know this will be unpopular but maybe trouba or panarin to the Hawks rd help on offense for Benard. Both only have two years remaining on their contracts so it fits the timeline of the Hawks. Have no idea what the trades would look like. Thoughts?

Of course he does, the last thing he said was Korchinski is not a bust!
- paulr

Then i will keep reminding him that he is. 15 points from an offensive D-man? BUST

(frank) no. Trouba sucks and why give up anything for an aging Panarin? And while I am at it. They signed those guys and they can ride it out.

Parekh was again targeted and took an elbow to the head in the Saginaw London game. London took a five minute Major and Saginaw scored their second goal of the game. 2-0 Saginaw after one. Still over three minutes left in the major penalty.

If the rumour about Montreal wanting to move up in the draft is true, the #5 pick and Owen Beck would work.

Wow, helluva start by Saginaw v powerhouse London in the championship game. Outshot em 15-1 in the 1st period!!! Up 2-0 thru 1 with 4 minutes left on a Major PP..... Finally, Parekh showing some urgency, moving his feet, making plays, getting dangerous and he gets clocked by an elbow that drew a Major and ejection.

I rather they bring Kane back if that is the case. And Trouba is just plain bad.

I read where Trouba's NTC goes down to 15 teams in July. At 8ish mil per for 2 more yrs and on the 3rd pairing as NYR's #5 defender I don't doubt they'll look at the possibility of moving him... And Panarin has a full NMC. He ain't going anywhere cuz he don't wanna.

If NYR wants to cough some valuable compensation for taking Trouba I'd look at it.

Yea, I guess that is the accepted reason he was stuck in the MHL. Makes sense cuz the film shows the kid fits just fine........

How bout the Memorial Cup game?? Thru 2, 3-1 Saginaw and I think the SOG are about 24-5!! ......... No rooting interest here, like both clubs, but I think it's good for the fan that London is down going into the 3rd. Lotta firepower on that squad and they'll come out guns a blazin.

Imo if the medicals come back clean for Lindstrom Hawks pick him if there any questions or doubt they take Demidov. Or Montreal tries and move up and get Demidov which they covent.

Man i really hope the youngest defenseman in the league last season puts it all together. It'll be great you'll be like GP was always female doging about Kane.

D!ckinson ties the game at 3. He was also instrumental in London’s second goal. 3-3 with 9 minutes. Great game!

Great game, great finish, great tournament for the fan. Place was rockin. ...... Win lose or draw crazy how Saginaw held London to a shot in the 1st and just 5 or 6 thru 2 periods. In the championship game.... Doubt a Hunter team ever came close to getting shut down like that.

But we now know Parekh isn’t a choice.
