If by some chance KD snags Necas, does he lean toward a D-Man or finish out the first line with Demidov?

Also, there was a previous discussion about can't win without defense and the reply was can't win without offense. We got the best offensive talent last year...why not take the "best" defensive talent this year? Seems only logical, eh?

- Matt_Foleys_bro

KD will take the player he feels is the best. There’s nothing wrong with piling up young talented forwards.

If the Hawks land Necas and draft Demidov at #2 the future of the Hawks forward unit looks bright.

Bedard, Demidov, Necas, Moore, Kurashev, Greene, Slaggert, Nazar, Reichel, Dach, Kantserov, and possibly a forward drafted at #18.

Reinhart really looks ordinary in these playoffs.

Not to be rude Dots, but are you out of your flipping mind? He's been incredible in these playoffs. I'm not watching tonight, so he may be having an off game, but he's been a beast throughout. 7 goals in 14 games, and constantly generating pressure and chances for himself and others.

Broken record time, but do NOT sleep on Ludwinski. I think he will quickly become a favorite once he cracks the lineup. Also, you forgot to mention Marcel.

Agreed on Ludwinski. There are others that could fill out bottom 6 roles too - Savoie, Hayes (he could be top 6), Safonov and Misiak.

Plus, there are 3 first round and 5 second round picks combined in 2025 and 2026.

By the trade deadline next season we could have Nazar and Hayes contributing on a scoring line and Slaggert somewhere in the mix too

My hope is to see Ludwinski and Misiak working well but too much youth too soon with Slaggert as L3. In two years they could become a reliable line?

Other: Look at wiz draft list to see who S Richardson and Yaremchuk are

Take best available player so David and company have to decide who that is. Demidov is the second best prospect in the draft.
- Scott1977

Thank you. I think both yakemchuck or richardson are better than levshunov. But i take demidov and not look back.

Yes sir what I would draft as well
Yakemchuk might be available at say #10 but I doubt Richardson is there at #6.
I have a sneaky feeling that KD might go for Lindstrom over Demidov or if it is a dman Richardson over Levshinov

Ah, no. Though they didn't play in same leagues, very few have come close to Eiserman numbers

Will be interesting to see where he ends up being picked as I recall him being mentioned in a few places as the possible 2nd OA pick at least when this NHL season began.

Now though, depending on where you read, Wiz has him going at 11 to the Sabres while The Athletic the other day (Pronman) had him rated as the 16th best OA prospect and the 6th best Fwd with Celebrini, Catton, Sennecke, Demidov, Iginla, Helenius rated ahead (in that order).

Hawks come out of this with Demidov and Eiserman i'll be doing back flips, and trust me, that would be a bigger miracle than Eiserman lasting til Hawks

IF they get both you’re posting videos of those backflips regardless of your success.

If KFC can move into the top 10 you just may get your wish.

Yeah, I don't think he lasts til 16 or 18 but like Paul mentions what if KFC is able to move up again in this draft and get him. Like you mention, getting him and Demidov would be a big shot in the arm to the forward prospect group.

Reminder, KD said during one of his recent press conferences that he will take the best player regardless of position, handedness, size, etc. They are not looking at what they don't have in their prospect ranks and filling holes. They are simply taking the highest rated player on their board. I'm sure if they see a guy fall that they have highly rated (i.e. Oliver Moore last year) he will do all he can to move up.

I was actually really happy to see that KD moved an extra pick this year to move up a bit. To me, that signals that he is moving more towards quality over quantity, which is (I think) what we'd all like to see.

Kudos to KD if he can move up in the draft again, but that's a tall order to fill.

If a team is looking to acquire more picks, then KD has the assets to make a deal. If those teams want immediate help (i.e. the DeBrincat trade) then the Hawks are out of luck.

10. NJ - they don't need more picks, they're rather have a top 10 talent added to their roster.
11. Buffalo - like NJ, they don't need more picks, but the might look to deal this pick for immediate help.
12. Philly - maybe they are willing to part with the #12 pick, but my guess is that they would rather have the prospect they can get at 12.
13. Minny - they're not trading to help the Hawks
14. SJ - same as Philly
15. Detroit - if they traded this pick they would want immediate help in return
16. St. Louis - won't trade to help the Hawks
17. Washington - is there a point in moving up one spot?

Teams are not going to pass up a deal that helps them because it might help another team in their division. The Hawks have traded with both teams before and the world didn't end.

Minny needs as much help as they can get. Especially if the Hawks send a cheap prospect over.

Re: moving up one spot. If their guy falls to that spot and they don't want to take a chance on Washington selecting him, that's the point.

I know a guy who knows a guy who spoke to Oliver last week.

His plan right now is one more year at UM and then sign with Hawks.

Honestly, not joking around, its a true story.

- vabeachbear

Thanks your friend's friend for the confirmation. It seems most 1st round picks just spend a year or two in college before signing so it wasn't a wild guess on my part.
