So the Leafs might move Nylander this summer? The same guy who they spent most of the year negotiating an 8-year extension with an NMC? That would be a huge story...

It has always been Tavares's Stamkos's dream to play for the Maple Leafs.

Yeah I'm pretty sure Nylander is the last player Toronto will be moving. Not only did they just sign him to an 8 year deal but after that clip of him lecturing Marner he's looks to be one of the team leaders at this point.

Stamkos wants to win, and after all the dust settles for Florida, Carolina and a few other teams in Cap crunch, Tampa will be a top 5 opportunity to do that again.

Add to that his legacy and his families desire to stay there, ZERO chance in hell he goes anywhere.

He will trade term for salary and, like Hedman, will write the book on how to sunset core stars, and remain competitive.

Not like Pittsburg...

They also tacked an NMC onto his current contract which prevents a trade between now and next season. I'm sure teams do that so they can trade the player ... oh ... wait...

Oh Ek.

You know I absolutely love your awkward wording of roomers, which may or may not be intentional.

But "maybe 50/50" could perhaps be your greatest work.

Stamkos is about 7 months older than Tavares, so technically it was Stamkos' dream before it was Tavares' dream.

But I've heard that Stamkos is demanding PK Subban is also offered a contract by Toronto - it's the only way he will agree to come.

And even then, it's only maybe 50/50.

Why would anyone take less in Toronto when you have four players making 50m

Three. Nylander might get traded. Just like last summer. The Leafs source is pretty dialed in.

The internet really is getting stale, the same rehashed recycled trash. It might be worse than Hollywood.

I can't wait for AI to really take over all these jobs, even if it means wiping out humanity.

Everyone knows the problem of Toronto, swapping out a big four forward with an aging superstar who has won some cups does not solve anything. Same issues, same rumors.

Edmonton and Florida have the top two PK units in the playoffs. This proves how vital the PK is. Perhaps the Leafs circle back with NYI on Pageau + Wahlstrom for Nylander. Pageau is a PK specialist. Leafs can replace Willy's offense with Stamkos. So it's like a 3 for 1 trade.

Will never happen....Leafs and the fans still think they are going to scare teams with a scoring top 6 in the playoffs. Then they complain about their stars not scoring...DeRp DeRp DeRp.

Leafs, like War, never changes.

Stamkos already has brought the cup back to Toronto twice. When he had his day with it after winning 2 for Tampa.

Next year, after Tampa wins another, maybe he will bring it back again. PK and Tavares are invited to the party.

We don’t need home towners coming back to help their childhood team out, all while squeezing as much money out of them that they can get. If Stammer is willing to take a discount for a one or two year contract great, otherwise, no thanks on 7x5yrs or anything like that.

discount?
To go from sunny Florida to minus weather?
To go from no state tax to huge chunk of salary gone?

Only way Stamkos comes to Toronto is multi year and the convo starts @9M+

Stamkos is staying in Tampa 95% chance or better. Otherwise very small chance he shocks and goes to a team that is a contender in the east.
