I don't think Bettman and company want to add another Canadian team because of revenue, the Canadian vs American dollar, the market size, all that stuff

they definitely want American teams in large metro areas that currently don't have teams

- jimbro83

Atlanta would be a cool one.

Would Kansas City be enough to support a team? Houston?

Maybe following professional sports isn't really your thing? You don't seem to allow for the fact that the statistics don't play the games, human beings do. Every second of every game brings the opportunity for someone to be less than perfect. Same goes for the building of teams. If you can't factor that into your perspective, you'd be much happier sticking to something that might bring you some sort of joy. It surely seems that you need it.

Anthony,

Everything can be calculated and quantifiable. The content I post shows that and gets ignored because "watch the game". Yet year after year we watch and what changes for the Rangers? Mostly the cast of characters. Not the plot, and certainly not the results.

I think Houston for sure, and it seems inevitable they will try Atlanta again

Kansas City is having trouble getting new stadiums done for the Chiefs and Royals, I heard Chiefs may even leave and go to Kansas City, Kansas if things don't move along

yep, from what I have heard Atlanta metro area has changed a lot since Thrashers left and the league feels it will support a team better now

I am pretty sure its the largest metro area in US without a NHL team

I like Trouba and I know he would be better next year. His money has been an issue from day 1 and it just doesn't work for the role he has been forced into.

Yea I’ve given in. I just hope we aren’t pusses now. He has that intimidation factor which you need. But Rempe is arguably more intimidating

yeah, I like Trouba but an 8 million dollar defenseman needs to excel on both sides of the ice and he is not as good offensively as the guy I thought we were getting from Winnipeg and is only getting less productive

I think they have that in Rempe like you said. I also think Schneider can do it and maybe they could bring in another D man that could help and cost a lot less.

This, it’s a business decision. We can’t get better 5 v 5 if he is making 8 million as a 3rd pair d man. He is the golden ticket to make necessary moves

I think his offensive side has been stifled by the role the Rangers expected from him. It has gotten worse each year.

Thomas,

No, everything cannot be. Believe me, this is not me misunderstanding the power of statistics. I get that nuance can be glimpsed through hyper-analysis of the metrics. But, they can never represent 100% of possible outcomes. Outliers are diminished or dismissed when they actually represent the human factor of the game. The reality drives the stats. The stats do not drive reality. If the fact that someone fails to achieve a goal 87% of the time leads you to believe they will continue to do so 100% of the time, that is as big a failing as not understanding why the math led to that conclusion.
I have no desire to perpetuate this belaboured point and I will let it drop here. I just wish you could accept the notion of people not accepting the stats at face value is out of a continued desire for improvement and love for the team, not a lack of understanding the math.

His offense is shooting the puck 100mph way wide of the net or directly into a defender

He is a great shot blocker, Penalty killer, and hitter. But his offense like you say and puck moving skills is a big reason our 5 v 5 struggles. We need more d man who can skate and make quick passes out of the zone. Players like Lindgren and Trouba really struggle with that. Just can’t have both in the lineup

- JRR1285

I can't understand why they want to go back to Atlanta for a third time, but what do I know.

If I recall, Kansas City has no real interest in an NHL team. Houston would be nice to have an in-state Texas rivalry. Frankly, I really don't want to the league to expand anymore and further dilute the talent pool. But I'm not the one that stands to make several billion dollars so I'm not winning that battle
