One sided? They were one goal games!!!

So it wasnt the first line not producing anything offensively? It was the defense's fault. You know how you can play better defensively? Play in the offensive zone.

The Rangers losses were by one goal except for the first game which was 3 but one was an empty net. Imagine if they chipped in a few?

Yes I’m aware how hockey works

The DEFENSE had a hard time getting the forwards the puck because they weren’t HEALTHY. Fox was a shell of himself….doesnt matter tho right?

The healthy vs unhealthy debate is a moot point. Every team was dealing with a ton of injuries. Also supports getting bigger defenseman……. Our 2 smallest dmen (Fox and Lindgren) were the most banged up.

Fox was banged up from a knee on knee and an injury that he sustained from regular season. Didn’t have anything to really do with his size. Lindgren I would agree it’s bc of his size and how he plays

Re-aggravated the knee injury though in the CAR series. I’m not disagreeing that’s how he got hurt, I’m just saying smaller players are more likely to get banged up. Add in 5’10 175 lb Zac Jones …….. not a recipe for success

Fox has missed more than 10 games once. Chytl is bigger and missed more games than panarin and Fox who are smaller. It’s more so a player playing style and awareness.

Also Fox got hurt on an illegal hit against the caps. Player 6’4 get hurt on knee on knees also

Most rangers players that missed time due to injuries were all 6’2 or bigger over the last 3 seasons. Luck and playing style are essentially the factors

Still think NYR is too small on D.

Trade Miller
Trade Lindgren rights
Trade Jones

Can get a bigger replacement for Jones. To play as 6/7 dman

Miller offensive/skating skills can fetch a #4/5 dman.Yes...Miller is big...plays small

Lindgren rights get a pick.

Gotta sign/Trade for top 4 dman to replace him

Ride out Trouba contract..

Read last page, never said trade Fox. Said he’s our smaller skilled guy back there. Only room for 1 of those IMO.

Miller is a big problem if we’re bellyaching about the size back there. He’s a huge man but plays like Raffy Diaz. He needs to be more tough

Ok Tom. If you actually think a guy 5’10 175 lbs isn’t more likely to get hurt/worn down during a season/playoffs vs a guy that’s 6’4 220, I don’t know what to tell you. Can ANY player get hurt? Obviously. You’re arguing to argue here. If you watched the intermissions during the playoffs and heard what Messier, Subban etc were saying about defense in the playoffs; they all said the same thing. You need big, physical guys back there to wear down the opponents and it helps the toll it takes on their own body. But hey, I guess 3 guys under 195 lbs fit that mold also.

Agreed, Miller needs to have that edge that we saw more consistently. IMO, we played our best when we were hitting everything that moved and played physical. When they got back to the “we’re going to out skill you”, they struggled.

You said it’s a moot point he got hurt lol it’s the main reason we lost the series imo. Hes the most valuable ranger in probably the last 20 years, aside from our goalies. It killed us vs Florida

The moot point is EVERY team had injuries. Unfortunately ours happened to our most important player outside of Shesty.

I think McGroarty is going to be a solid player. However, when I saw him play for Michigan it was mostly as a LW and he would take the occasional draw at Center. With Othmann already vying for a LW spot --- where's the room for McGroarty?

I'm not sure this is the droid we're looking for.........

That’s what I mean. Fox injury, not related to his size, is skewing a lot of people’s minds about how good we aren’t. If he’s healthy the offense is better, they get the puck out easier and even the PP is probably not as inconsistent

You want size back there I get it. But his injury had nothing to do with how small he is, it was two dirty hits on him essentially

Girard played 7 games that entire post season …….. shhhhhhh don’t post that he only played 7 out of their 20 post season games ….. shhhhhh
- nyrangers9479

He got hurt, but still played. Also played 60+ regulars season games. Stanley cup champion forever.

But you're right, Gustav Forlsing being 6'0 made the difference in game 7.

Can we look back at this claim somewhere during next season because miller is worth a whole hell of a lot more than a #4/5 d man, which I don’t even fully understand. What is a #4/5 dman exactly? Either way, I think this will age like milk

I kinda think miller is very overrated. Can he get better sure, and he better, but he digressed this year. He was a big part of the problems we had
