Whether you like him or are done with him the reality is he is a ranger for a long time. So rangers have to figure out the best way to get him going again

that’s the thing, all you guys being mad at him does nothing for us

Guentzel top target according to the athletic (which is for libs of you didn’t know already)

Anything long term makes next year quite the cluster(frank)😬

There is just no way they could get Guntzel unless Trouba is gone

Yea. I think that’s what they’d like to do. I dunno who would take Trouba off our hands. I think doing those two things would please lots of people tho. Except Tom, who cannot be pleased under any circumstances short of the team plane crashing

Guys like Kreider, Chytill, Lindgren could potentially be moved next year to clear space if need be. If you can get Guentzel you do it and don’t worry about next year

I think Jimbo said it to, you kind of have to go all in this year. With Igor and lafs huge new deals coming next summer this is the last chance for this core. Go all in, get the best players you can. If you have to cut bait on players next summer so be it

Drury might get fired if they don’t win next year anyway. So what does he care lol

Exactly, I’m done being sensitive on my favorite rangers. Due what you need to win. If some have to move then oh well. I hope Drury is smart. Don’t feel sensitive about Trouba cause he is the captain and a good leader. If a deal is there make it

This is my honest opinion on Zib. He had a bad year. Ain’t denying it and he fought the puck all season it seemed like. Whether his shooting was off, or just making the wrong play a lot of times. But the RWs he had suck. They weren’t at his level of skill or play, or aren’t capable of playing at that level. It’s clear the team realizes what I’m saying and hopefully addresses it with whoever that may be. It’s not a position they can band aid like they did this year (1RW). We know what he’s capable of because we’ve seen him dominate at times when he’s right, over the years. I’ll be the fair one lol and judge him when he gets a first line RW, til then I give him a pass. He’s arguably the best PKer in the NHL, which should mean something around here yet it means very little

Players have bad years and he is no different. His career playoff numbers are not terrible either, 73 games with 63 pts

- Slimtj100

My opinion of Zib - he needs to play better to justify his contract. I don’t hate him and I know he is capable of better. But he had a bad year. I don’t buy the “he needs a better RW”. He gets paid to make other players better. My other problem with him is that he is allergic to contact.

He’s made Kreider a better player over the years

It’s not a coincidence imo that this is the first year he really didn’t haven’t a talented enough guy on the right side with him. Every year before that has been a good player with him.

Whatever man I’m tired of this debate. It’ll be proven this off season when they finally get a guy worthy of the first line with a skill set that matches his. It about chemistry too. Need to find a guy who works well with them both really. IMO a speed guy is what they need, and/or maybe a playmaker

Mika is a really good player but he’s more of a top 25c. The argument is you need a true top 15c to win a cup. If he can be better at even strength and they get him a winger hopefully he has a bounce back year

Miller is a big problem if we’re bellyaching about the size back there. He’s a huge man but plays like Raffy Diaz. He needs to be more tough
- Slimtj100

Needs to play like Raffi Torres

I thought he made a good point. A player's awareness & style of play will have a fairly large impact on the probability of said player getting injured. There are plenty of players under 6 ft that have no problems staying healthy and can be effective in the playoffs. Size alone doesn't equate to playoff success.
- NYR11

Avoiding injuries yes. Wearing down the opponent and making them maybe hesitate when the big bodies are on the ice is another thing.

Weber is not a first ballot hall of famer. I love JR but is he better the Mogilny or Tkachuk, who should be in. How is Campbell a builder? Mogilny not being in is pure garbage
- airjan23

Mogilny for sure should be in. He's the first player Lou brought in who was allowed to keep a high number. That alone is telling.

Thing is he wasn't shooting from his "office" on the PP. Is that Lavy or an assistant? He seemed to really be fighting it this season. Was hoping he was injured only so there was an excuse. He's not going anywhere so he'd better figure it out this summer.

You need a good balance. You also want smaller players that can play bigger than they are. Tro, Laf. Defenseman that are big and mobile are ideal. Mikkola was one they should’ve kept

Bertuzzi wouldn’t surprise me if they went after him. He’s kind of the guy everyone wants. Smaller but plays big, and is pretty good in the playoffs. He didn’t seem to fit all that well in Toronto

He plays both wings according to cap friendly

Maybe he’d take 5x5-5.5. Small raise and some term. That wouldn’t kill us too bad

He played well enough for us and was very noticeable for Fla in the playoffs.

Yep. Big mobile defensemen aren’t easy to come by that also play with an edge.

Another bumhole. Was decent before he got to the Rangers. Sucked while he was here. Then leaves and is decent again.
