I wonder what RFA(s) are getting qualified, they supposedly just added two NHL players.
Edit - Boiler beat me to it, maybe the fax machine doesn’t need to be hooked up, they’re all gone.

Mikheyev is KGB; he's here to report to Vlad about Demidov. One false move and his uncle's goldfish gets it....

Sure but both Tkachuk and Eichel wanted out of their situation? I don't want to rely on a malcontent to be my last piece of the puzzle to win a cup.
- BetweenTheDots

Who wouldn't be malcontent playing in Buffalo and Calgary?

Possibly. Mikheyev isn’t that bad, he’s just not worth his contract. He’d be great support for Demidov.
- DarthKane

Mikheyev is interested in playing well in the araa near the opposing goalie, but disappoints in many other phases & areas.

Wait forget what i said, The Hawks pay nothing save $, gain the negotiating rights on Sam Lafferity, get a 2027 second rounder for Mikheyev and other celebrities.
The Hawks 2027 4th rounder goes to the Canucks.
I too thought, "Was there Demdov reasoning in the contract help?", and then' I remebered the young Belarusian defender country has two national languages, one being Russian, and thought there may be no barring to the teams first round pick.

Just because Times Sports has the Van-Hawk trade (dump)instead of ESPNor TSn, or NHL, because they are trulty out of the offices, unable tp track follow - up on the transations full facts. The Canucks chose the later arriving
There is as of yet, there being a 3rd party teams involved.

Here is the entire trade off Canuck NHL site:
WE have acquired a 4th round pick in the 2027 NHL Entry Draft from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for Ilya Mikheyev, Sam Lafferty, and a 2nd round pick in the 2027 NHL Entry Draft. Vancouver is retaining 15% of Mikheyev’s salary as a part of the transaction.

Unless there is a typo on the NHL site, all the picks are in 2027, none in 2025 'tall.

So the payment is one where Vancouver has 2 FOURTHs and the Hawks have 2 SECONDS in 2027.

Vancouver to Chicago : 2 Rnd 2027
Vancouver to Chicago : Ilya Mikheyev
Vancouver to Chicago : Sam Lafferty
Chicago to Vancouver : 4 Rnd 2027

Looks like we may become the next Russian heavy team soon. I believe the 2nd round pick is in 2025. The 4th we are sending them is in 2027

As of now Hawks have 2 1sts and 3 2nds in 2025. The 2nds are their own, DAL and VAN. Five picks likely in the top 55-60.

The Hawks now have 3 second round picks in 2025 and 3 second round picks in 2026. Me thinks there are more trades to come.

Correction: it’s a 2027 2nd, not 2025. The Canucks just confirmed the trade.

Ya, initially reported as a 2025 2nd round pick, now a 2027 2nd round pick (isn't that the year they regress and miss the playoffs?)

That’s a lot of picks, especially with this year’s draft picks as well. Some of these picks will be moved in player trades, or to move up in the draft, whether this year or next. KD is awake.

Here's an interesting rumor, Lafferty and Mikheyev to the Blackhawks

Russian, ehhh?

- BetweenTheDots

I’d like to get Lafferty back. Mikheyev is a barely above replacement guy so unless he’s there to make Demidov/Levshunov feel at home I don’t get it.

KD is keeping the pipeline of picks and prospects flowing. I think they’re up to 9 second round picks in the next 4 drafts (in addition to 6 first round picks).

I don’t mind getting Lafferty back, KD can flip him for another 2nd or 3rd at the TDL.

If Lafferty signs Hawks will have 12 forwards including Nazar and Slaggert. Looks like Entwistle, the Johnsons, and Raddysh are close to gone.

And this trade may preclude a UFA forward being signed.

- boilermaker100

Guess I would count Nazar but not Slaggert (think he will have one year on the top line in ROC).

Hall - Bedard - ?????
Reichel - Athanasiou - Kurashev
Foligno - D!ckinson - Nazar
Donato - Lafferty - Mikheyev

Sanford (because Slaggert needs to play every night)

Could see Donato being swapped somewhere if they want to keep Slaggert up. So one free agent/trade acquisition could fit in. Not sure who else they would trade, unless it was Reichel or Kurashev.

Agree that pretty much all the RFAs will go (maybe J. Anderson could be there instead of Sanford). Those guys are pushed out as ROC fills up with prospects.

I know we discounted the rumor about Holland but I just read an article from sportskeeda that say's he COULD be coming. His contract is up on June 30th and Edmonton hasn't offered him a job. Holland stated that he won't be attending the NHL draft.

Nazar will end up on a line with Bedard. They’re already easily the most talented forwards, and a team this bereft of talent will acquiesce to their talent rather quickly. These two will enjoy practicing with each other, being on the first unit, your most talented players naturally gravitate to each other.

Yes, Nazar has a ticket for the top 6 very soon. I am just thinking on opening night he is with a couple of vets, and plays maybe 20 games with Foligno and D!ickinson.
Maybe he won't need that if he fits right in.

We are good - it was basically take this fairly new Russian guy's contract that Vancouver over paid him (and Bruce Boudreau) on, and TnT intermission report guy himself, Rick Tocchet who had little use for him, in the style of hockey he expects wingers to explode into, especially when the Cap hit space was needed elsewhere, like getting the Chicago franchise past $60 and $28 mil available of space, at this moment.

Having a PP pt.mn who finds the back of the net is nice to have in town.

And we obtained in the swap, Vanc 2nd Rd. 2027 for that Chic pick at 4th round a bit earlier...a bit more than a round-worth'a picks, as I expect the Canucks will continue to be and a switch of 35-50 draft slots in no way collapses their Canadian hockey future success.

KD has an air tight staff. No leaks or even hints about who’s getting drafted. No clue about what UFAs they may be interested in. No leaks about trades, nothing. It’s all media and fan speculation. I think we can expect a few surprises in the next few days.
- paulr

Well yes and no. It certainly seems like they want everyone to know they are very very interested in the kid from MSU.

Not at all but he has to be very careful going forward always being mindful of the salary cap. I prefer FAs as opposed to trade and sign players

I've said before they need to sign 2 RD, 2 top 6 forwards and 2 bottom 6 forwards at least this season.
