Glad Roenick got the call to the HoF.
I was a 'Hawk fan well before he came along and he certainly helped me remain one.
One tough hombre who could score. Simply loved his game!
(And he was SO happy when the 'Hawks lifted the Cup in 2010!)
Roenick was simply one of those guys who define hockey.

There are lots of rumours that Montreal covets Demidov. Montreal have some really good prospects and young NHL players but no game breakers among them. If KD isn’t really sold on Demidov or Levshunov maybe he can pry away both of Montreal’s first round picks, #2 & 26 plus a prospect like Owen Beck or Florian Xhekaj who plays on a line in Brantford with Nick Lardis. Xhekaj is 6’4 200 and plays like the wrecking ball his older brother Arber does. A good skater who turned himself from a tough guy playing hockey into a good hockey player who’s tough as nails. With the number five pick there are possibilities like D!ckinson, Iginla, Parekh, Catton and possibly Lindstrom or Buium. Then picks at 18 and 26. Maybe Greentree is one of those guys? That’s all assuming Montreal is willing to sell the farm for Demidov?

Not by a long shot, that currently goes to Stan Mikita

Glenn Hall
Bill Mosienko
Mush Marsh
Bobby Hull (as a player, not a person)
Kane, Toews

All did something Roenick never did, win a Cup with Chicago. And were better hockey players.

Roenick is responsible to so many people becoming Blackhawks fans (along with a few others from that era). Well deserved!

Nothing, but he could help in the short-term. I'd sign Skinner to a 1-2 year deal to play with Bedard, or at least in the top 6. This team needs to add some talent and there may be better options but I don't think Skinner would be a bad choice.

Congrats JR, well deserved!! Loved him when he played in Philly. The game could use more players like Roenick.

I thought KD said he was done with the cap dump trades, and was looking for players that will improve the club.

Where does Skinner play? With Bedard instead of Taylor Hall ? With whoever (assume Reichel and whoever plays second line center? ) He is not a bottom 6.

Just what the Hawks need, another non-physical forward that needs someone else to do the heavy lifting for him. Very Hard Pass for me.

How many games before Hall is out with an injury? Skinner would be needed then.

I’m with you, I want to see whoever is brought in to be an addition for the future not another stop gap, unless the Hawks take on a cap dump that includes a top prospect.

He’s a great skater and is a decent complimentary player. He doesn’t drive much possession on his own, but does hang out around the net more than expected for a guy who grew up figure skating. He’d be a fine addition to the power play, and wouldn’t look out of place in the top six, unlike everyone not named Bedard/Kurashev from last year.

Well after playing in the league 14 years and not one playoff game, I would assume he would try and sign with a team that has a chance for the playoffs anyway.

Fair enough. Skinner wouldn't be my top choice, but if the Hawks signed him to a short-term, low-cost I wouldn't be upset. As others have pointed out, it's just a matter of time before Hall gets hurt and misses significant time. Skinner could help in the top 6.

I could see Skinner signing with a contender for a cheap deal, like Richards did with the Blackhawk did for the 14/15 season.

Xhekaj is the complimentary player for our top offensive players like Bedard . But is he a descent skater?

Alas just draft another JR!

I doubt KD deals the #2 OA pick, if he made a trade with Montreal I would want Beck and I'm sure Montreal won't want that.

I'm ok with the Hawks trading down to 5 but as I thought from the get go passing on Levshunov, a big RS D would be near impossible for KD, or any GM really. The thought of a possible #1 Dman who has size, skill and skating along with a bit of a streak in him who projects to eat 25 minutes, the toughest matchups and 60ish pt skill is a dream.

And you got Wifi's brother on my watch list and indeed he is a blood and guts kinda player. Those kinds always have a place on my squad.

KD has made a splash in both drafts, or tried last yr to move up for Moore, and if he doesn't this time it will be the first time. I do expect Lev to be the pick but KD has shown he ain't scared.

Rangers want to move up in the first round. They are rumored to be offering their 30th pick and Kakko.

Hawks reportedly interested in Chycrun. Ottawa asking for a 1st and a 2nd/prospect in return. Chycrun is injury prone and only a year left on his contract. Why would KD be interested even if he's extended. I read he can play the right side. Is Jones being moved and will Chycrun take his place on the 1st pair and PP QB?

I hope KD isn't interested. I would rather draft at 18 or use it in a trade for a player like McGroarty.

There are worse ideas out there, but there are certainly better ideas too. I don't think he fits KDs plans, unless, as you say, a d-man is moved. I think it would be Murphy who could be moved, not Jones.

On the left side I'd go with Vlasic, KK and one of EDM/Kaiser/Allan for now.

Rather than give up assets to acquire Chychrun I'd rather KD just sign Alex Carrier as a UFA. Carrier may not have the offensive potential that Chychrun has, but he'll be better defensively and he's a true RHD.
