Yeah but Hronek and Petey were RFAs - completely different situation/circumstances. They're building around those guys + Miller, Hughes.

Don't think Plan A was ever to empty the bank for Guentzel and obvioulsy thats why they didnt re-sign Liddy and Zadorov

I've been saying for a few days now - instead of playing 8-9mil for a guy like Guentzel or Reinhart to get you 30-40 goals, they'll look for 2 mid 6 guys that can produce the same - but give you better flexibility cap/term wise.

This team scored a lot of goals last year - they need guys that can slot in with Miller & Petey line and not go 60 games without Scoring - ala Milky, Lafferty,

Olefson, Skinner, Stephenson, Arvidson, Mantha

It's not about what I want, I'm simply listing off players that factually put up similar goals/points to the big ticket boys and instead focussing on scoring by committee rather than these golden parachute/cap bankrupcy deals.

Its a absolutely stupid business model and thankfully our new MGMT team is not adhering to anymore. There are other ways to build around your core on frenzy day.

Roy is gone 5.5X7 = 2 yrs too long
I'd rather give Zadorov that contract TBH

Sprong has only finally started putting up decent numbers - but I don't think he fits with Petey or Miller - he's not skilled enough

DeBrusk could fit in with Miller/Boeser - heard he's inconsistent but I like his age and think he can elevate his game - depending on who he's with.
