My final ask here
Sign Matt Roy and Brady Skjei.
Just gonna need Podkolzin and Hoglander and some ahl kids to step up In that top 9.
Hughes Hronek
Skjei Roy
Soucy Myers
That's rock solid on the back |

I agree / that’s a dynamite 6. Cap wise, it leaves u nothing to address top 6 scoring so think you choose one of those two guys - then go for a lower cap, big-depth LD and focus the salary on a forward like Skinner, Mantha, Arvidson - or ANYONE who u think could fit with Petey and semi-guarantee you 20-30 goals at a reasonable $$ hit.

How does this grab you?

Grabs me pretty well actually - not sure how realistic it is cap wise - but only bcus I honestly have no idea how much these middle 6 UFA forwards are gonna cost. It seems like theres a few top tier guys that will get Loui Eriksson deals (that we must avoid) then a ton of secondary guys.
Olefson, Arvidson, Skinner, Duclair, Stephenson all seem like prime targets for bounce back years. I’m guessing they’re all around the 4-6 mill mark - no idea on term? |

They will have to skimp on the 3rd pairing I think. Jules is signed so they will probably bring in a solid 3rd pairing lefty on the cheap.

They may also use Friedman or another AHL vet too. It's not like they don't have options if they can have a solid top 4 D core that they can play 40+ minutes and limit the TOI of the weaker 3rd pair. You'd like balance, but Hughes and Hronek have shown that they can handle 30+ minutes a night, if they can get a good second pair that can eat up another 15-20 and be productive then you can get by with weak 3rd pair that only plays maybe 10-15 minutes a night |

Yup, I think that’s the reality of the situation but it’s a good thing. If they spent big on a guy like Roy, or Pesce, then they’d have to find a Cole-esque depth guy like Hakanpaa (my top choice) or a Forbort, Edmundson
5$ - Top6F
4-5$ - Best D available
1-1.5$ Silovs
2.75-3$ - mid6F
1.5-2$ - Bot-pair D
Cap wise do u think it’s possible |

Pesce has lost 10 steps and is going to NJ anyways. I think it’s extremely unlikely Roy would consider signing in Canada. Most likely stays in LA. He would be a good fit though |

Mantha 👎 - Nighthawk
Elaborate?
Other than being injury prone - what’s the issue. He’s been a pretty consistent producer when healthy. He’s basically a slightly better Joshua type middle 6 guy that doesn’t hit as much. But he’s huge, fast skater, quick release, could really help Peteys line if he was f-1 digging out pucks. Find a UFA sniper to play the other wing. I bet Tocc and the Sedins would help round out his game. |

Really? I never watch Carolina games. If that’s the case and they’re going elsewhere then…
If Allvin won’t fork over $$ for Z then that takes Skjei and Montour outta the equation and you’re down to guys like Kulikov, Walker, DeAngelo, Schultz.
Or even lower like Shattenkirk, Gustavson, Aho, Grezlyk, Forbort, Deshairnais, |

👎due to his inconsistency. If he signed & was 100% buying into the system & culture then comes to price. |

I don’t watch a lot of Canes either but read a few articles and paid attention to fan reaction to his play. It seems like the org had no interest in bringing him back as his play has dropped significantly. I think the team fils out the D with two guys in the Dillon range. Then add one top 6 forward and one physical 4th liner. Tight but doable |

Manthas was a 24, 25 goal Scorer since he was 22/23yr on a terrible Wings team. Dak hasn’t come that close even as a 28 yr who’s finally hitting his stride - so no that’s not really accurate.
He averages 60-70 hits a year / that doesn’t scream pu$$y to me - pretty run of the mill - plus we don’t need him to be another Joshua - we need speed and size to F1 on EPs line - basically be a Milky except not go 60 games without scoring or creating a lick of offence. Fawk I’m happy he’s gone. |

My guess on Chris Tanev and Toronto is six years at around $4M per season.

I’m fine with Canucks holding a line on their numbers and letting other teams over pay stupidly on one player.
Better off for Canucks to score quality contracts spread around Debrusk, Sprong, and Roy. |

Heard on Canuck podcast RD saying Milstein will announce on July 1 why Zadarov is moving on from Canucks. He said it’s not about money or term.
What happened? |
