Do you understand that we were leading the div before these players were acquired ? - CanuckDon
Yes however Lindholm and Zadorov were a part of holding that div lead. No?
Just seems our PP was never the same post-Kuzmenko and Lafferty and Mikheyev gone now too changes the dynamic is all. |

I feel like they’re gonna make a play for Reinhart or Stamkos. But we also need Toughness and PK brought in. |

The team has zero interest in Stamkos. Thank god |

Reinhart maybe, but if they were in on Stamkos we'd have heard rumours by now that he's being courted by FA and seen in Vancouver. Besides, I have a feeling he's going to Detroit or Columbus |

We lost Kuzmenko Lafferty Mikheyev (Lindholm and Zadorov later) so far how will it all be the same lol?
Canucks will need to swap in another 5-6 scraps to replace some of the talent we lost. Unless some AHL guys are ready for the jump.
Ain't gonna be easy. - LordHumungous
The Canucks most dominant portion of the season(first two 3rds) was without Lindholm and Zadorov. During that time, Kuz and Mikky were not contributing very much at all. Lafferty was good first quarter of the season and a spare part after that. RT is still the coach and one more season with him should tune up a few player I would hope.
In reality, we have all the pieces who carried the team to the division title still. Some holes to fill yes but I think winning the division has more to do with the question of how Edmonton plays next season. Hang over? Does Vegas rebound and play better? Those are the only two challengers.

I think LA probably is much better without PLD and might push for 2nd or 3rd in the division. Edmonton probably does dip like Vegas did after winning the Cup but will still push for the division, Vegas probably fades, especially if they lose Marchessault, but is still formidable. With the holes we have at present, we're still a playoff team, but we're probably a WC team unless we shore up our top 6 and D |

The Canucks are not going to sit on $15M entering the season. They will spend it on adding players to improve the team. All this fear the team won’t be good enough is not recognizing it’s a different culture and developed core. |

Intrigued about Boqvist especially since he’s RHD.
Canucks lost a drafted Swede D who was traded out then later waived but found his game to win a Cup.
Maybe Boqvist can be a Forsling success story this time for Canucks. They have a chance with their improved system and coaching staff developing him. |

Free-agent forward Tyler Bertuzzi is expected to sign with the Chicago Blackhawks when the market opens Monday for four years at a $5.5 million annual average value, league sources said. |

What sucks is those are offers Canucks easily would have made. But players with tax free and sunshine Florida life like it there when teams can be competitive.

Bertuzzi signing in Chicago - NewYorkNuck
5.5$ is 1.5-2$ too much for that kid
never played a full season ever - and is 40-45pt average, mid/bot 6
Surprised he got so much more than Domi - there nearly identical players. |

So glad we didnt - those are two horrific contracts and the exact kinda mistakes I'm glad this org isnt making.
Reinhart had one really great year on a cup winning team, but we he ever repeated it? Doubt it. It's 2yrs too long and 1.6$ too much
Guentzel deal is terrifying - so happy we avoided that car crash.
Both deals will not age well |

Comtois needs a reset - Tocc could rebuild his confidence. Work with the Sedins to build his board work and body protection.
McLeod and PO Joseph need chanage of scenery as well. Could be decent depth moves

Pretty much. Balance out all those ELCs with overpaying for people to come. Such is the rebuild cycle. |
