Holland wouldn’t have been able to sign Arvidsson after giving Perry 3x3, Desharnais a 4x4 and Janmark a 5x3 with a NMC.

Have to think you might be right with the Kane speculation. Only way the cap will work is if Kane or Nurse are not counting against it, and both have NMC. If Drai does extend, next year is going to be tougher to manage.

Assuming the cap continues to go up at this rate, cap in 25/26 will be roughly 92 million. Oilers as of today have Kane, McDavid, Hyman, RNH, Janmark, Arvidsson, and Henrique signed up front for that year. On defense they have Nurse, Ekholm, Kulak, Stecher and Brown signed and in net they have Skinner and Pickard signed.

They would have roughly 29.6 million in cap space that season to sign Draisaitl and Bouchard and round out the rest of the roster. Maybe more if Kane is dealt or moved by that point. Money will not keep them from signing Bouch and Draisaitl.

Nice write up ! I too am pretty impressed with the Oilers free agency. Bringing back essentially the same team with a couple upgrades is pretty exciting. I still won’t watch the regular season but looks like we could get another fun playoff run.👍

Very likely he was part of setting up some of these signings before he stepped down.
