all sarcasm aside. the goaltending and defense isnt good enough to make the playoffs.

This was a 91-point team that was helped by a wild finish of miracle wins. That tied us for 8th in points. Typically, 95 points is the minimum to make the playoffs. In recent years we've seen the 8th place team at 97 points, 98 points, even 100. So even if we replicate the magic from last season with Lyon stealing points, you could easily be 7 or 8 points out. Most of the off-season changes seem like lateral, sideways moves. And what kids can take a step. I guess Edvinsson, maybe Johansson or Mazur get a look. Who knows where Berggren fits after bringing in Tarasenko. So it's likely another mediocre year. Larkin turns 28 this month. How many years before he begins to fade?

Solid move...dumping the injury prone Fabbri in exchange for tank is a plus.... Perron passion and game will be missed, though his undisciplined penalties will not.... the outlook is a competitive season in what looks to be a weaker division...B's are older as well and Tampa will take a step back hopefully... Florida lost some guys and Toronto is Toronto and looks a mess.... Talbot should complement Lyon much better than Husso.... and Ghost was entertaining and expected to be gone but provided less than stellar play in his end.... we'll see...

Seems about right, except Stevie has another couple moves to make this team better. He has to address the RD position yet, and the goaltending is not settled yet. He may end up losing another asset or 2 to rectify the situation or be able to pull a rabbit outta the hat. We shall see, because these issues need attention!

Maybe if Holl is not traded soon, Wings take Veleno to arbitration so they can get a 2nd buyout to get rid of Holl that way.
In the meantime, Adam Boqvist, Kylington, Zaitsev, Deangelo, and Barrie (God forbid) are will out there and will be cheap 3rd pairing options.

He has hardly played for AZ. Maybe Wings get a 3rd or 4th with him to attach to Holl where ever he goes>>>>>.....

Can’t buyout Holl in an arbitration buyout window. Doesn’t have a big enough cap hit.

They have to give Johansson a shot with waiver options gone. It looks/sounds like Edvinsson and Johansson will start with the team but the numbers game is head scratching. I feel like Tarasenko is a step up from Fabbri (not life altering huge, but an improvement) and sounds like he’ll see Perron’s time on the power play. Hoping for some sort of Jettison in the defensive realm but no idea what the team is going to do at this point

Vlad is a step up from Perron, as he will most likely play in the top 6 not the bottom 6 as Fabbri did. And he will be less of a liability than Perron and his temper.
