Chiarot-Seider
Edvinsson-Petry
Gustafsson-Maata

Husso/Talbot/Lyon

Right now I think they are a serious cup contender with the great moves Yzerman has made. The defense looks great, the goaltending too and the Center depth is best in the league.

I think they take a step back. Still missing a top 6 winger and center. There top 4 defense is still missing two defenders and goaltending is bad. i hope I am wrong though.

Tarasenko added to the forwards should be make them plenty capable, but that defense is weak. Maybe Edvinsson takes a major stride.

Wow, what a maroon, 2 years at 4.75AAV

Show over, kids, no forward spots available for you again, unless 1 manages to send Motte to GR instead!

Like this signing… dude is tough to play against. He isn’t the same guy he was when he was “filling the net”, but is a solid player and fits in the top 6

The Anaheim Ducks have acquired Robby Fabbri and a conditional 2025 fourth-round pick from the Detroit Red Wings in exchange for goaltender Gage Alexander.

This one was fairly out of left field, don't hate it, especially with Fabbri going out to make room.

If he keeps attaching draft picks to every trade out he makes, he'll be standing with a cup outside pizza pizza place begging for some come draft time.

Is swapping Tarasenko for Fabbri worth wasting a 4th? Another guy who will not be part of the core if a window to win actually opens. We have like 14 bandaid placeholders on short term deals. Would rather just play Berggren and see what we have.

Not real torn up about a 4th. The 2nd with walman was rough but this I don't care.

Well someone mentioned buyouts and I said Husso if they were trying to sign Tarasenko. Dumping Fabbri instead works too.

At least he moved someone out, or it was starting to look like possibly another "rebuilding" season without a single rookie on the team.
Not that this guarantees there will be 1.

Yes a 4th is fine being “wasted”

Yzerman making a big swing here to add to his top 6 forward base…definitely an upgrade from Perron for the same contract amount he paid last year. Wonder what his # will be? Maybe he calls Sergei and takes #91............

Agree. Happy to see Fabbri go. But there is no vision. A 4th isn't that valuable, but when you start to add these up it's frustrating - a 4th for Fabbri, a 2nd for Walman, we take Petry but instead of getting a sweetener we give up a 4th in that one too, we buy out Yamamoto and didn't get a pick - at some point these can be used as trade chips to add younger talent. Again, Logan Thompson was trade for two 3rds. Maybe a 2nd + 4th gets that done. Vegas uses a 3rd to add Holtz and see if he reaches his potential while we use a 4th to get Petry. This is poor asset mgmt.

I think it's hilarious that he extends them by 3 or 4 years and then ships them out with picks attached.
Were they worth an extension then with that term?

So, 11 forwards, 7 D, 4 goalies

And 20 million cap space left.
Considering 16ish for Raymond and Seider and 2 mil for Veleno,
that pretty much only leaves space for Bergers with 1 million to spare

all sarcasm aside. the goaltending and defense isnt good enough to make the playoffs.
