I’ll pass if that’s the price

Zegras would be one heckuva an addition tho. I agree that Cuylle would be tough to trade, but the logjam at LW is definitely something to consider. Zegras plays center so that gives them a ton of options and toys for Lavy to utilize

So what do people think the ceiling is on Cuylle?
- aecliptic

Ceiling? 30-35 goals. Kid scored 13, on the 3rd line, and I believe all at 5 on 5

I’d love Zegras, but Cuylle is a no for me. He’s going to be a very good player, type of player guys pay 1sts++ for at deadlines. Big tough physical kid that can put the puck in the net

This is part of the reason Im curious if he can play RW. As a lefty it puts him in a shoot first position which falls right into how he plays. I wonder how a Kreider, Zib, Cuylle line would look since Zib was far more pass happy this season.

Laf did it, I’d be willing to give it a try

“ Cuylle is a natural LW, but playing the off-wing isn’t a big deal.”

I’d give him a try there again. Maybe put him with Panarin and Trocheck, let them give Panarin some space.

Kreider and Laf with Zib

Smith Chytil Othmann on the 3rd?

I’m sure the season won’t start with Smith on the 3rd, but don’t think it’s a bad idea

Just feels like a trade of some sort is inevitable because of Othmann. As it stands right now we have 15 forwards who would most likely be on the opening night roster, with the one exception of maybe Edstrom.

To me the Trouba thing is holding up a blockbuster trade with someone, and it’s probably Zegras

One thing we’ve barely talked about is Carrick. I didn’t think they really needed a 4th line guy (especially 3 years), but maybe they signed him because Edstrom is on the block. He would be a decent trade chip imo. Point is the Carrick signing is very curious, like a signal a trade is coming

Thats an article from January 2024, and despite that I dont ever recall Cuylle playing RW at any point.

One of Miller or Schneider
One of Perrault or Othmann
One of Kakko or Chytil
2025 1st

If it’s Schneider I could see us getting Gudas in return
If it’s Miller I could see maybe a LHD coming back the other way.

And btw, I think if what I posted above is actually the return, we should pass.

Likely all three in bold. Think the 1st may also return a 2nd round pick.

An underwhelming 2nd overall pick who is sound defensively and got massively outplayed vs. Florida, another 1st round pick who’s a swift breeze away from his… 5th concussion? …and a 1st round pick that will be like the 30th pick.

Id probably flip Othmann to LW and let him play his natural side, whereas Smith has played RW a bunch before.

Do we really want to go the "Flashy, Finesse" forward again? Is Zegras built for the playoffs? We already have 2 flashy players that turtle up in the playoffs, do we need a third?

Long weekend.

I see the Rangers have done less than nothing as even Tarasenko would rather play in Detroit than come back. Drury master class continues.

Also, I'll be on vacation this week without internet access.

So 2 things will most likely happen:

1. Trouba or a different trade will likely occur.
2. You'll have the sanctity of the blog restored for 6 whole days.

James, this is very much a choice. I have a feeling this another self projection of insecurity and anger. It's seems I've pulled another thread that has now left you unraveled.
