Golfs not a sport. Its a game. Just like baseball. if you can enjoy a beer and sandwich during play, its not a sport. Having said that, from my experience the people that hate golf, suck at it.

Golf has to be one of the most difficult sports to master. You have to do dozens of things correctly every swing, or any hope of being competitive is lost.
I'll agree that it is (mostly) lame to watch on TV. But, it's a fantastic game to play yourself.

Professional golfers on TV would break par with a shot and a bong hit every other hole. I said it wasnt a sport, not that i dont absolutely love it. I am a 12 handicap, play at least twice a week.

I joined the golf league to schmooze when I started in my engineering office 10 years ago. I lasted 3 years. I am a bogey golfer and was WAAAAY better than 97% of the people out there.
