I keep waiting for more moves. Is the Haaktuah medical clearance gumming up the works, or is this pretty much it?
This D looks improved as long as Tanev holds up, but it's not a major improvement. There are still guys in higher pairings than they should be.

The forward group needs to be improved for sure. Especially after losing Bertuzzi. Like him or not he’s a good top 6 player (maybe not worth the hype or cash) and the group last year minus him is worse.
I read Kampf could be moved so maybe if Hakka is fine - Lily, Robertson, Kampf for someone who can play in the top 6. Minten Holmberg and maybe even Dewar can handle 3C/4C roles.
Think right now its get a feel at the development camp and see what the Hakanpaa sitch is. IF he cant go then likely have to look at a trade to replace him.
Up front think Steeves, Cowan and Minten will press into spots so dont see us as worse without Bert. Especially with Domi back. Think the you ger guys may not be as physical but they skate a hell of a lot better and if they fit Berube's style more great.
If you can move Kampf and get Sprong cheap could be a nice upgrade too.
Tre got options and plenty of time here to sort things out from Marner to Hak etc

guys with 11 NHL games combined fit Berube's style more great
edit. nevermind I read it incorrectly. I'd like to buy a comma Pat
I like small towns but yours is a little too small. - shack67
I’m pretty sure I know everyone who lives here now.
But I feel ya.
I love it tho. To get here you gotta dodge some moose.
My original hometown you might like, Callander.
Was up flying today and we were dodging thunderstorms on the way into Webequie. On the way back there was some fires that started up. So we might in for a fire season after all.

I wouldn’t be confident that any of those rookies could step into a top 6.
Like Bert or not (wasn’t worth cap space or not great defensively) - he did a ton away from puck on puck pursuit, flushing out dmen in offensive zone, taking guys together net, and causing chaos in front of net. All those things add to the time space and in general the offence of the line he’s on.
As a gifted player - playing with a guy like that makes the game more ‘readable’. You can see him force the play one way and capitalize and pick pucks.

Damn fires, they’re everywhere. I have my minivan camper finished the way I want it now. We may take a late summer trip across northern Ontario, I’m guessing that there are lots of places to boondock up that way.

Yeah if you make it up the 599, I can point you to some camping spots.
Lots to see around Thunder Bay tho.. it’s underrated imo.
