On what planet is Reaves not a complete and total failure.

Please, explain it.

Since when does 3 years, 1.35 AAV for 49 games, 4 goals, 2 assists, -13 with an average of 8 minutes per game with 0 special teams anything other than a failure?

In the playoffs the Bruins had absolutely ZERO fear when he was in the line-up. So, the idea he was some kind of deterrent, goes right out the window because it didn't make any difference when things got rough.

It's understood you do not like him. got it
I think he'll be around for this season and will be LTIR or should I say Robidas Island will have a spot for him.

Reavo did his job.

He’s still the heavyweight champ, except for maybe Olivier, who I’ve been saying the Leafs should totally get.

Robertson, Liljegren, Kampf, Reavo for Jenner, Kuraly, Olivier, the Russian Goalie they gave.

Of course, on the blue and white planet of delusions.

I do like him. He's a nice guy. And if he was 5-10 years younger, in his prime, absolutely, he'd be great. But he's not. His age, his price and his performance make him a waste of space on this team.

Just remember, Vegas got rid of him. They won the Cup after he was gone. Why? Because that organization was smart enough to realize he was finished. The Leafs, unfortunately, haven't been smart enough to realize it yet.

I'm not sure if you noticed the score of that game but they were losing 3-1.

Did he score 3 goals after that fight? Video kind of ended when he went to the penalty box which is where he usually is when he isn't in the press box.

Matt Rempe gets 850K and he's 22. If the Leafs want a goon, fine, but at least go get one that isn't 37 and doesn't cost almost twice the price.

Just to be clear I wasn't giving the love emoji to Tre's first UFA crop. It was brutal and we got off lucky that the damage wasn't more locked in.

You guys defending Reaves I want some of what you are smoking. Reaves seems like a nice guy etc but what wasTre smoking holy cannoli.

This isn't really a real grading system - because it's more like what we got by value expected.

Like Bertuzzi, I expected a B performance from him and we didn't get that. He was more of a C when you consider that the $5.5m allocated to him could have gone to Bunting, saved us $1m, and Bunting had 19 goals and 55 points compared to Bertuzzi's 21 goals and 43 points.

Going on a hot streak for a month doesn't make him a B+.

Domi maybe was an A- and the minus is only because the guy isn't very good at defense. Keefe refused to give him an elevated role until he had to - but Domi was 2nd among all players in 5v5 A/60 and Primary A/60, and 7th in the league in Pts/60. Every name ahead of Domi in the Pts/60 this year was in the Hart conversation at some point - Crosby, Panarin, Pastrnak, Matthews, Kucherov, MacKinnon and McDavid.

Gregor you almost want to give two grades: He was a A in camp and then a D- the rest of the season. His numbers on Toronto were worse than in San Jose. Of course he was stapled to Kampf all year, who is about as offensive as a bunny smelling a flower.

Still - they chose Gregor or Lafferty and that was a mistake and Gregor never lived up to that bet.

Reaves - I like this guy, but he's nothing but an F. I was a game last year for the first time in forever and I will say that the crowd loves him. He gets the crowd into a game - they cheer on his everything. There's a buzz when he steps on the ice. Unfortunately in the game I saw he was still -1 and despite a fight with Jeannot, Tampa still scored again and we lost 4-1.

I'm going to say that I agree with Rare Jewel on this one - I love who he used to be. He used to plow through guys on the boards and drive the net like a train. That guy hasn't played in the NHL in at least 5 years.

Benoit - it was sort of his grade that made me kind of go, "Uh?". I think he's an A if your expectations were that he was a 7th D-man. His overall play . . .he was probably still a solid C+ or B-. Let's face it, he's a third pairing guy. It's sort of preposterous to give out an A based on 17 minutes of ice time against often lower competition. But I like him and glad they kept him. If Treliving were doing his job, though, Benoit would be a 7th D-man again because we'd have more talent back there.

And then Klingberg and Jones? Klingberg was overpaid, not what we needed, and played 14 games before he was mercifully placed on LTIR so he could get himself healed. If that didn't happen the writing was already on the wall that the fans had turned on this guy in just 14 games. With Jones, he surprised us all by playing 8 decent games out of the 20 he started. That's still another 12 appearances that he wasn't very good in. Look, I get it - he finished with a .902 which was the best he's been since 2017-18, but it's still below league average and he wasn't someone that anyone would have relied on.

So in the end for me - Domi and Benoit really stepped out and excelled. Everyone else wasn't as good as we would have wanted them to be.

Homeboy can still scrap.

It’s hard to measure how effective of a deterrent he was. But no one took liberties with the two most important players, Marner and Matthews. Also Nylander had his best season partly because no one lowered the boom on him, but 95% of his success is because it was a contract year and he wanted his payday. I’d be surprised if he cracks 70pts next year.
