Or he was golfing all summer and bragging that he was fine to his buddies…. - landros 2
Maybe it was Ryan Ellis who turned him in seeing as how he was on the golf course ...

And as far as the college rules go, they need to be altered immediatly, you are drafted by a team you play at least the term of the ELC for that team, period. Or you don't play in the NHL. - jd250
That sounds simple on the surface but it would create a situation where NHL teams would effectively hold on to prospects' rights indefinitely. And you can imagine the shenanigans some teams might try to pull for the sake of cap savings if there was no set timetable to get their prospects signed. |

I don't know but that makes the 3rd player in the last 9 months with whom they are getting into a public dispute. Not a great look for the Gold Standard.
I'm not even counting Fedotov and the KHL contract. |

I am fine with the outcome that forces RyJo to be available and tradable.
Sounds like Torts does not like the player and Danny knows it. - mickel25
be funny as hell he says I will report to camp and try to win a roster spot. |

One would think they are pretty confident they got medical experts in their side and the NHL which probably already told them “no LTIR” for this jackwad |

I always took it as he was hurt and played through the injury because he was on a contender. Then he was traded to PHI and decided it wasnt worth playing through anymore. Whether or not he would have sucked it up if he had a spot on the NHL roster is up in the air but Lets face it his stats were garbage with Colorado. He clearly wasnt healthy
Dunno what the Flyers got on him but you can be sure that if an NHL team doesnt want you, they will do anything to get out from the contract. Flyers probably watching him like a hawk looking for an excuse. Carolina did the same thing with Scott Darling. Guy did a spittin chicklets interview and went off on CAR and the NHL because he joined the substance abuse program and it was used against him to try to terminate his bad contract. - xShoot4WarAmpsx
that is an assumption. if true then danny boy should have got more back in the trade no? |

Kolosov isnt blocked though. He actually has a better shot than before to get into the NHL. People forget the goalies going into last season were Hart and Ersson. Kolosov was still blocked unless the Flyers moved one.
Now however the Flyers have Ersson who may be a solid starter, maybe not and Fedotov who we still have no idea what hes going to be. The Flyers G situation could be good or a complete poopshow which makes Kolosov a good shot to join the team.
If Fedotov doesnt work out you could see him and the team terminate his contract and go back to the KHL if the Flyers plan to demote him because he sucks. The issue right now is the Flyers jumped through hoops and made a ton of promises to multiple parties just get get Fedotov here so they are pretty much forced to commit to Fedotov for this season. - xShoot4WarAmpsx
Some of the stuff you post. Nobody has forgotten that Ersson and Hart were the goalies last season. You could see a lot of things. There is no clear path to the NHL at this point in time if that is what he wants.

I defend them until the facts say I shouldn't. The problem I have with you and others on this site is your default position is everything Briere and company do must be wrong, and that is not something I can get behind.
And as far as the college rules go, they need to be altered immediatly, you are drafted by a team you play at least the term of the ELC for that team, period. Or you don't play in the NHL. - jd250
No that's not what you do. You defend them for loooooong after the facts say you shouldn't. Until Briere and company prove differently, they don't get any benefit of the doubt.
There is a CBA in place and there is a players association. By your proposed rule, a team couldn't trade a college player during his ELC.

War has made things difficult for sure. Flyers had Fedotov coming, gets conscripted then all of a sudden doesnt want to play in the NHL after then magically he comes over. It is clear something strange is going on with Russia. Even with Michkov there seems to have been some shady dealings to make it happen. Now Kolosov on top of it. It doesnt seem like an org issue, there seems to be something going on with Russia.
College situation is different. I dont think they will avoid college players, I think they are going to avoid prospects using Gauthier's agent. The size reason for not picking Biuim seems like a cover excuse. I dont for a second believe thats the main reason for passing on Biuim. - xShoot4WarAmpsx
Fedetov made his own bed. He didn't follow the rules. That's why he was treated differently. There has always been back door shady deals made for Russian players. Kurt Overhardt works for KO Sports. He is involved in contracts for over 30 players worth over 400M. There are other players on the team with him as their agent. The company has contracts with over a 100 NHL players. They aren't going to be able to not deal with him and his company.

The Canes didn't terminate his contract, he was traded to Florida for James Reimer and Florida bought him out.
Frankly Carolina gave him more chances than they should have because he sucked. |

I was kind of hoping we would have another Bobrovsky type situation where he forces himself in to contention with a great camp.

I would say yes at least as far as his Flyers career is concerned.
He is an NHL player.

I wouldn't exactly call that a public dispute. Reporters are commenting on the situation. Not out of the ordinary. I don't see the Flyers having done anything wrong with that.

Kolosov's position is understandable. poopty but you can see why he'd be upset.
Gauthier is whatever. That stuff happens. He can enjoy being forgotten in Disneyland.
This RyJo thing is different. There's something seemingly ugly here. They'll eventually settle, the Flyers will have a small cap hit, and he can go play somewhere else for cheap. |

I’m sorry but they traded for Johansson and because Torts and him butt heads forever ago, you’re not even gonna try to play him? This team isn’t good enough to just throw players away, especially centers. Joey wasn’t having a horrible season. |

That's what I was thinking. He'd probably be the best center on this team. |

I read it was due to an injury in Colorado, which I don’t buy. Like, did he hurt himself getting on the plane to Philly? Give me a break! |

Eh, if a respected guy like MacKinnon had to go out of his way to tell management he doesn’t want this guy in his locker room I’m not sure I’d want him here either. You get rid of a guy like Hayes and then make the same mistake by bringing in a guy like RyJo with a reputation at this stage of his career just wouldn’t make sense to me. |

The Flyers royally screwed up the Gauthier situation. At this point in time, I don't see the Flyers having done anything wrong in the Kolosov and Johansson situations. |
