- seeing the roster is essentially full up front and on D. What real purpose would it serve to bring in a player or 2 on a PTO since they still say they are rebuilding? There are several players still out there who can still play mind you. Any trades in the works? who would be the odd man out if anyone is brought in?

- If Kolosov stays in Russia will the organization go in full protection mode and for lack of a better word smear Kolosov? Will be interesting what they say as they seemed ecstatic about bringing him over. Talked about it a lot all year and "jonesy" really went out of his way to praise him.

- you don't see any real chance they loan him out at all? My belief is he comes to camp.

2) It is confirmed that Flyers goaltending prospect Alexei Kolosov has switched agents to take on Dan Milstein as his representative. That instantly raised red flags because Kolosov is under entry level contract to the Flyers for two more seasons. Since then, it's been reported that Milstein will seek to get the Flyers to agree to another loan to the KHL's Dinamo Minsk, as was done last year. The KHL regular season starts on September 3

I guess the Flyers can't use the all is well, nothing to see here line anymore regarding Kolosov. They are in a tough spot if he digs in. On one hand they hold all the contractual leverage but on the other they can't afford a public blowup with another prospect where they look like amateurs. The way they went after CG at the end was way over the top and fans may overlook one but two? It probably doesn't help that both CG and Kolo skipped dev camp.

I don't think he shows on time for training camp. Maybe he will just "oversleep" again. Whether or not he eventually shows I think depends on the FO's resolve. Kolo could win just by making it a very public dispute and embarrasing the flyers into letting him go. With CG, they very publicly went the "We want volunteers, not hostages" route. With Kolo I don't think that's an option.

Keith Jones on Gauthier: ‘If you don’t want to be a Flyer, you’re not going to be a Flyer’

Would be interesting if Kolo's new agent posted that on X as i feel confident that Kolosov doesn't want to be a Flyer atm.

To anyone who listened to the podcast yesterday, what are the realistic expectations for Coots this upcoming year?

They've already started down that path. They don't know what's going on, oh he just changed agents at the last minute, blah blah blah.

Yes but you know with the Flyers luck that if they trade Ersson+ for Askarov then Ersson will turn into Bob and Askarov will go back to Russia.

If Kolosov would rather play in Russia and has no interest in a North American career, then the Flyers have zero leverage. The kid can most likely have a nice career in the KHL and make much more money than the average Russian.

Flyers want to be the gold standard. Hockey is a business. Kolosov is a business asset, as are potentially dozens of Russians and other European players. Make a business decision, keep old-type personal feelings out of it and set a shining business model for how to handle kids having a hard time assimilating. This is a chance for the Flyers to shine, make a name for themselves, and perhaps attract KHL jumpers and veterans in the future to a team willing to make its players comfortable.

It’s not just how you treat your stars (Michkov) but how you treat your current minor leaguers and prospects. There’s way too much of this “if he doesn’t wanna play we don’t want him” that’s not a healthy business model.

He wants to play in NA, just not for an $80,000 salary + $92,500 signing bonus.

Didn't we see this with Fedotov where the KHL was fined, he was banned, and his team was banned from international play?

https://phillyhockeynow.c...nal-competitions-3-years/

There's an argument to be made that if the Flyers hadn't made many promises including that overpayment of a contract he'd still be there.

When it comes to the Russians for the Flyers, nothing has been straight forward.

I don't think Kolosov will be worried by the threat of having his contract tolled, because by the time he's 23 or even 24 he'll feel like the Flyers would want him in the NHL anyway. To replace whichever of Fedotov or Ersson busts over the next year or two.

Looks like he will be in Russia for the foreseeable future if that is the case. No team is giving him a spot on an NHL roster.

That depends how well he does as a KHL starter. If he has another strong season doing that, a lot of teams would like a 23 year old with a $925,000 cap hit as their backup.

That's basically what Ersson was at the beginning of last season - and he became the Flyers starter.

Ersson spent time in the AHL. He didn’t go directly to an NHL roster.

Because Ersson came over at an earlier age. And the SHL is not as good of a league as the KHL.

Can't the team call the new agent and get clarification on Koslov's intentions? Does the new agent speak English, or is that a barrier in communicating as well?

He came over when he was 22.
