Well, lately I have been trying to decide on which type of fencing best suits our small holding, and I stink between one or two materials. My neighbour uses barbed wire and this I have heard is not very easy to manage and not very friendly to animals either. Then there’s wood, which indeed looks very nice, but I know that I will be constantly fixing them. What we require is something which is not only strong but cheap. Has anyone worked on end uses of various types of fencing for farm? I would like to hear other peoples’ experiences regarding which has been more effective, particularly for livestock.

I had a similar situation; some consultations led us to choose welded wire fencing. It is well fortified to contain livestock and bar or deter any predators while at the same time, it is safe for the animals. Barbed wire was too dangerous for us, particularly to those that are handling horses. If you need Fence Contractors in Terrace, BC we have it listed under Terrace, BC. They assisted us in choosing the right material to use on our farm and the exercise of installation was easy. Definitely would like to explore a permanent fixture.

Interesting topic! I don’t have a farm myself, but it’s cool to see all the options for fencing that are out there. I imagine it really comes down to the type of animals you have and what kind of maintenance you’re okay with. It’s one of those things you don’t think about until you actually need it. Always good to read about real experiences.
