Everyone saying Murphy will most likely get moved next year - I could see them moving him this year if there is a taker, if the Hawks retain 50% of his contract. It wouldn't affect them next year cap wise.

Some mix of prospects+picks getting traded should happen either during this season or next offseason.

Rantanen and Marner still haven't signed extensions,wonder if they'll be too rich for KD and company and their stupid salary cap phobia

I don't think they have any concerns with the salary cap. Mostly it's been about giving term to guys that would be taking a spot from one of the prospects.

I’m also fine with their salary cap phobia. We know what the opposite gets us.

I wish they’d give Kaiser-Allan a try. Both can skate and make solid plays, unlike the guy who is somehow the cemented 5th defenseman.

Hoping for another solid effort, Hawks have really played just about as well as they can outside of the Utah 1st period. The guys are really battling for each other, just would like to see better passing and more puck possession. It would be incredible to come home 2-1-1 to start the season with all the games on the road. However, I am predicting 4-1 Calgary. Bedard with the only Hawks score.

In my eyes he has been one of their best forwards since preseason. If they were scratching him to play a youngster it would make more sense, but for Smith/AA, that doesn’t make any sense. But hey, there’s bigger fish to fry than worrying about a fourth liner.

In my eyes he has been one of their best forwards since preseason. If they were scratching him to play a youngster it would make more sense, but for Smith/AA, that doesn’t make any sense. But hey, there’s bigger fish to fry than worrying about a fourth liner.

Mrazek is anchoring himself....... Thought that's what happened on the goal but the puck hit a body which in affect made it a kinda broken play with a good bounce going to Coronato(Chicgao Steel) and an open net, but yea Mrazek is biting, going down and anchoring himself.

Not sure I remember Soderblom doing that thru preseason and his game in WPG. Last yr though, every other play he was down and anchored.

Really like Jones first period there, a lot of our pucks towards the net involved him in that period, and of course the goal tipped by Foligno.

I do like him being more aggressive shooting the puck, kind of wished on that 2 on 1 shorthanded he took the shot, oh well.

Own the ice from the dots in, keep em to the outside, block shots, stay above the puck, pucks and people to the net. You can see from top to bottom they're coached to shoot the thing and they are... Not a bad club to watch at all.

That's too bad there was that moment of indecision and no one clears the puck for the Blackhawks.

I’d like to see Hall and Bertuzzi get going.
