Damn too bad we couldn’t close but a point is more than I expected it of that game. I’ll take it.

Hard to tell from watching the replay on YouTube. Did Sanhiem get tripped in OT ? Announcer's were saying the Flyers bench was up and yelling at Refs.

That was terrible backchecking on the OT goal.

Sounds like Torts at least tried to win in OT instead of playing for the shootout, that's progress.

Didn't see Jett's name in the recap, how'd he do?

The reason that Brink was able to score off of ekholm's skate was because Jett was driving at the net. It was a smart play by the kid

I felt like he played very well and I will say this, to me, the team looks better when he's in the lineup (pp etc) so that counts for something.

I only watched the first two periods, but we had several chances that we didn't cash on and that's why we lost out on 2 pts. Regardless, if we can get a win in Seattle, that's a solid road trip.

Luchanko had a decent game. Thought he was better in Vancouver, though. Didn't have a point on the Brink goal but took Ekholm to the net and it played directly into the goal.

Tortorella was playing Luchanko a lot in the 3rd period. In part because Couturier sat for 5 on a fighting major but he also was using JL and Poehling (who did not have a good game) a lot in the final five minutes.

Is anyone going to bring up Couturier's just under 10 minutes of TOI? Oh, someone just did, talk amongst yourselves.

Just watched the highlight of the OT goal. Sanheim may have been tripped but whatever. You're right, someone should have had the trailer.. Poor sam. Stops mcjesus on a breakaway and then drai is left all alone.

I didn't see it, but bill mentioned the fight so that may have limited his ice time a bit. Regardless, he's seemed slow and absolutely no offensive threat at all so far this year.

The announcers extolled the pass that resulted in an Oiler score.
It deflected off the skates off a Flyer immediately prior to the goal.
That it ended up precisely on the blade of the scorer?
It was aimed.

Yep, Michkov needs to be more aware of the trailer. Instead he just turns off to the right and basically leaves Ersson to the mercy of a 2 on none.

Overall, I am ok with a road pt vs a team favored to win the cup.

TK wasn’t much help on the OT goal either.

Flyers had a chance to put the game away in the 3rd, some great opportunities. EDM scored a terrific goal to tie the game.

My biggest concern right now is Torts may have to evaluate his 4th line usage. They have not played well for 3 games and his willingness to use them as a checking line against top lines is getting very dangerous.

My biggest concerns are a failure to cash in on grade A opportunities (I'm looking at you Tippett) as well as the backup goalie situation. I would almost come back with Sam Thursday.

Fell asleep after the first period cause had to get up early today, but based on ice time last night an 18 year old kid is your new #1 center!! Yes, I noticed that Jett had the most ice time among centers last night.

Michkov curling out of the zone when we don’t have the puck is going to be ugly on tape haha. Brink got sucked into mcdavid watching on that Bouchard goal. Really need to send Jett back. Torts is foaming at the mouth to use him.

Poehling on the face offs to start a PK were atrocious….I don’t think he won one. I bet it’s Brink, who lost Bouchard on the 3-3 goal who faces Torts wrath. I think Poehling has been average to bad in all 3 games.

They played a really good road game against a desperate Stanley cup contending team. Fun game to watch….thank god I got to sleep in.

Come on man, you really think they are desperate after 3 games? They sucked last year through November until they got their coach fired and then they won something like 17 in a row. I doubt that they are desperate yet. These contending teams start out slow many times. Look at the Avs. They've been atrocious, but does anyone wanna take bets that they'll be fine in the long run.
