Why are they so obsessed with Beau on the top line? - MickV
Madden said Sid wants to play with Beau because of the speed. If he didn't want to play with Beau, the change would have already been made...tifwiw. It's not helping things that Rust has pretty much sucked.
From DK's column: • Every lineup Sullivan puts together begins with what's best for Sidney Crosby. That's as it should be. As such, and because of who Sid still is, I'm going to guess that, when his line's on the ice five-on-five for six shot attempts for the Penguins and 25 shot attempts given up, it's almost certainly not the living legend's principal fault. And further, I haven't seen from Day 1 of camp what the coaching staff liked about Anthony Beauvillier on the top line alongside Sid and Bryan Rust. He's offered next to nothing to date.
I also see next to nothing with Beau there. They should make that switch. First line is often their worst line right now.
Bunting hurt? I don't think he's been bad, he just isn't producing right now. Like many players, he's a bit streaky and we've seen both sides of that now, but I wouldn't healthy scratch him. I'd rather try him with Sid.
From last blog, I agree Graves has been one of their better defensemen so far. Maybe because so many others are standing out as bad, but he's been steady.
