Doesn't EK have full control over where he goes? If so I wouldn't expect a great return. And that's not even taking into account he has a bad contract.

They have the oldest, slowest, lineup in the National Hockey League, that's never a good combination despite having two great players.

I am just hoping one team takes a shot and trades for him. I'm actually just looking for us to rid ourselves of his contract. That would be a win

I know I said this 5 or 10 times near the end of last season but priority #1, #2 and #3 should be for Dubas to hire a GM and him to step back and just be president.

For those saying hes intentionally rebuilding, the golden boy himself has said multiple times (from when he was hired until as recently as the Guentzel trade and the offseason) he intends to have the penguins contending for Crosby and the cores remaining years. I just dont think he knows how to do that. Like at all. If Hextall did the same job as Dubas has there would be pitchforks everywhere. Most of the major problems are 100% from what Dubas has done.

Im not saying they should be a top 5 team but they easily could have been built into a top 15 team and not missing the playoffs or in contention for a top 5 pick. See the washington capitals and what they have done to provide for Ovi's final years.

Is anyone surprised they suck so bad?

I’m betting dubas doesn’t get to see whatever you call this plan come together. He’s been pretty awful.

I’ve watched 2 games this yr. Sadly it was a waste of time. Not really interested in seeing any more at this point.

Of course. How many "contenders" in all of sports have their best players in their mid to late 30's? None. It's impossible if your system has almost zero young talent. I'm not throwing in the towel on the season. I still think they can play some good hockey, but they desperately need a new coach to achieve that. FSG fvcked this team badly by giving Sullivan that idiotic extension.

This teams biggest problem is the lack of young talent in the system. It's second biggest problem is the coach comes from Boston.

Yes, he does. I would think at some point he would want to go to a decent team. He hasn't sniffed the playoffs in five or six years.

Of course. a decent team would have to want Karlsson. Not a given.

I too, don't expect much in return. That's the reason I proposed getting a player on the grittier side. He doesn't have to be a bona fide NHLer, just someone who can provide toughness when things get out of hand.

The first was an entertaining period. We got both versions of EK, Acciari going down to block an Ovi clapper, a lot of physical play. Hopefully the second is just as good.

They'll find a buyer if they eat a ton of the contract or take back a bad contract. I don't think he's washed up. It's just a bad fit right now. Damn.... every time he's on the ice the puck ends up in our net.

Per Jfresh, Penguins have blown 2 goal leads in 6 games out of 15 games this season. Im sorry, but that's honestly more impressive than if we were in first place.

That was an entertaining game overall. Pens deserved it, Caps did too. Satisfying win vs Caps.

3-0 when we allow less than 3.

Although this game had no defense. Blom bailed us out the entire 2nd period. Were there 6 odd man breaks?

Like we watched 3 different games. Strong 1st. Tire fire 2nd. Lock down 3rd. Entertaining game though.

Ha. So true. Felt good watching the 1st except that Karlsson has no idea how to play any defense. Then wtf was the 2nd.

What happened in the 2nd? Pushback from a good team. They're probably saying wtf happened in the 1st. There's not many games in the league one team completely dominates all three periods.

Ryan O Reilly has more fighting majors than most of the pens lineup this season. Soft is the number one word I would use to describe the Pittsburgh Penguins. Teams are probably planning rookie parties in Pittsburgh cause they know they have a non violent easy night. Disgusting.

Well poop, I thought they played the Caps tonight. Guess it was a decent showing last night. It’s hard being the alpha male of your family and friend group. Always so (frank)ing busy.
