Damn, dude gets benched one period and has to leave the team... and y'all thought Petey was soft. Joking...
Hope everything is okay with him and his family. - NewYorkNuck
This could set the season back a bit with Miller, Boeser and Demko all out even Forbort to an extent. |

I agree here loads, I have mentioned in the past that the forwards do not check the body, they try to strip pucks, what’s wrong with body puck, then they wait a second too late with passes and deflections happen. Passes are behind, in feet or intercepted, feels like 3/4 of the team are clutching their sticks too tight. - Makita
That's how the kids are taught today.
The thinking is that the stick check is more efficient - you get the puck right away. Knocking a guy off the puck risks taking the checker out of the play, and then it's a toss-up who collects the puck.
Don't shoot the messenger here - I'm just relaying the "new thinking" in hockey. |

My thoughts exactly, we've had a very light schedule to start the year with 1 back to back and only 2 games in the next 5 days. Per Dreger yesterday, Demko's return is imminent but to me the crease has been the least of our worries.
It's time for hogs to step up his game with all the guys out. |

Miller taking an indefinite leave from the team for personal reasons.....wtf - claygolf83
Personal reasons, more like bruised ego. Ouch, you guy got to get rid of this selfish hot head player. He is going to take your team down. |

Ya, that was a bit... strange? My first thought was no, but the after thinking about it for a while it was a definite no. |

Personally I think people should temper their speculation on Millers personal reasons for leaving. |

Personally I don't think you should comment on people's personal speculation around what Miller's personal problems are. |

Whoever's wife he cheated with, or whomever his wife cheated on him with.
Being facetious of course and jumping the gun for the inevitable rumours that seem to come up in canuckland dating back to the kirk mclean days.

To summarize Patrick Johnston,
- Absence not related to substance or alcohol abuse
- Needs a mental reset
- Won't join team on upcoming 6 game road trip
Guys need to step up big time in his absence, hopefully JT gets back to being the engine that drives this bus |

Hope he can find his groove again after the reset, and the team can tread water while he's out. Petey needs to step up more than ever now. |

Prayers for JT and his family.
I have no idea what is going on , but from personal experience it is not easy to leave family or personal issues at home and not have it effect work . |

I saw JT at hollyburn a few days ago. He appeared fine and didn’t notify me of a pending absence |

It's crappy news on JT. Hopefully all is well for him moving forward. Rest of the club needs to step up and maintain to be sure. Chances for some to show their stuff out there. positive vibes all around!!

Haven't been watching the games, but the stat sheets suggest that Petey has been stepping up, no?
Some line juggling will need to occur obviously.
I'm looking more towards the depth/younger guys to step up.

Heinan-Blueger-Lekkerimaki
Bain-Raty-Hoglander
edit...appears Garland is a game time decision, might be out.

From what I've seen, Petey hasn't so much stepped up as he's gotten some bounces. He still looks to be struggling a fair bit out there and honestly still looks a little lost. Turning the wrong way, wrong side of the puck a lot. I don't think it's effort, just overthinking, overtrying and not relying on instinct. Just overall not coming easy to him. We'll see maybe being dubbed the unequivocal offensive leader near-term out there taps into something in him.
