Can't figure that one out either. Was an accident/incidental.

Ovechkin doesn't look nearly as hurt as the Ukrainian children who have been hit by Russian bombs.

I’m not a fan of either team. My opinion is Jim Montgomery is in the top 10 of NHL coaches . Sweeney is an average at best GM . Hence Monty should stay and Sweeney and Neely should be gone. Detroit is a little more complex. Yzerman idk he’s had a lot of time and really hasn’t built the foundation very well. I guess he’s waiting for Costa or Augustine to emerge. I feel his free agent signings have been atrocious, the goaltending is in inadequate they are not a playoff team so where is the team going ? Newsy hasn’t shown a style that wins in the NHL. I doubt seriously Yzerman will be fired but he better get a more experienced head coach and better goaltending if the want to win now.

Sweeney has done well but that Lindholm deal is as disastrous as expected.
If Yzerman were not a franchise icon he would be long gone by now.
Neither player tried to make legs collide so expecting a suspension is bizarre.

In Boston, there is really no blame as this had to be expected. The Bruins are an old and slow team. McAvoy is completely overrated. Pastrnak is one the best scorers in the league but provides little else. The Bruins traded all their picks away in an attempt to win now which was their deliberate strategy. Its time for the team to rebuild or retool, and that usually entails a season or two like this one.

The league just isn't as deep as it use to be anymore. Vegas and Seattle have diluted the depth carts of every team. So older teams with long term contracts are gonna struggle. Teams like Boston, Tampa, St. Louis, Nashville have struggled filling out thier rosters. Older teams that are still going like the Golden Knights, Jets, Rangers have continued to keep depth while letting top 6 players go. Its interesting to me to watch how these things have caused ripple effects in contracts and roster construction. But if the Red Wings and Bruins are gonna survive they need to adapt. You can't just build up one aspect of your player acquisitions without maintaining another. Like just building through Drafting like Detroit is doing. Or building through free agency like Boston is doing. With a lack of player depth in the league you gotta master all parts of player acquisitions. Drafting, Development, Trades, Free agents, Waiver Wire. It's just that tight right now. And it's caused by lack of player depth created by expansion.

Totally disagree, the league is deeper then it has ever been. The parity in the NHL is unmatched in any professional sport. The margins each night are razor thin.

The season goes from October - April. That is 7 months. Look at last years standings and consider the bubble teams and the impact 1 standing point a month would mean to them and being a playoff team. That each month, getting one game to OT or winning one in OT.

The league and quality of play, depth of skill is better than ever. Really good teams are no longer able to lock down 2 and 3 goal leads. The game is better then it ever has been. The talent is better then ever, top to bottom.

The result was bad (hope he's fine) but I have zero idea how that could be intent.

Provides little else? What is he supposed to provide? He's not a defensive forward, nor was he acquired to be one.

Last year, as a winger, without a 1st line (or even second-line) C, he scored 110 points. A drop of 3 only points from the year before, even though the team no longer had Bergeron or Kreicj.

Pasta is the offensive engine of the Bruins. Would be helpful if the goaltenders could stop the puck every now and then.

Yzerman needs to fire lalonde or he needs to be fired immediately. This coach is terrible and the team is in shambles. Do something Yzerman or you must be fired
