If I thought that Jiricek is the real deal, I'd trade Laughton and Ristolainen for him in a heart beat. Why would Columbus though.

Frost for Jiricek

Frost has skills but not the will at least not yet.

There is no chance of Columbus trading Jiricek for Frost.

It’s going to take a young player like Foerster or Andrae plus some draft capital. As far as if he’s the real deal….he’s a 20 yr old d man who went # 6 two years ago. It’s about projection. He has something the other young future core have…size. Other then Bonk (whom might be in any deal for the guy) there’s not a lot of size.

Edit: do I think they should be in on him? Yes. But I’m not sure the price it will cost will be worth it.

Should be an easy win for the Flyers tonight. Bubble train keeps on truckin.

Any move that rids the team of Risto or Laughton without retaining salary is a no brainer. The coGM won’t do it, however, as that would require initiative, gumption, and a mind of his own.

If Columbus was offered Risto + Laughton for Jiricek they would laugh all night long. Trade a guy making $900K under team control for numerous years for two guys making $8.1M for multiple years. Would love to hear the rationale for why Ek would NOT offer Risto + Laughton...

I can understand, but not like Jiricek not being acquired. I will be really annoyed if the only player moved before the deadline is Frost, and Briere ends up trading for Peyton Krebs (not necessarily traded for one another). No offense to Krebs, but he shown absolutely no flashes to show he is a top 6 center.

Laughts and Risto won’t get it done.

Add in Colorado’s 1st and maybe

But I think it’ll take Farabee and Col/Edm 1st

And you do that if you think Jiricek is a potential elite D. And if you must, you thro is Risto.

Agreed, especially when Columbus is on record saying they want a young player on an equal prospect level.

You would need to throw in picks, i would try both 2rd picks instead of giving a 1st

The thing is the Flyers would never offer that as those 2 are guys the Flyers love. Crucial to their success.

It’s no secret that the Wild have been in on him. He’s a RD and Spurgeon turns 35 on Friday.

Depending on what salary was retained I’d absolutely trade them. Rr and Laughton aren’t long term pieces of the puzzle

Flyers look like they are skating in mud- really slow. Not sure how ROR is just left alone at the dot with the puck in the corner.

Yeah. Not a great start but if kolosov telescopes out just a bit on that shot he makes the save. Too far back in his net.

Grans probably coming out of the lineup soon. Either Drysdale returns or get Zamula back in the lineup.

I think the Flyers should make a hard push for Jiracek, however they will have to significantly outbid other western conference teams that may want him also, and they may not want to do it. I would give up one of my lower 1st round picks, and either a 2nd or a prospect, at least to start. The good news is the Flyers have veteran and young assets that they can use to sweaten the deal if needed.
