Wedgie!!
How did you fare in the blizzard. Looks like it was pretty damn nasty in cottage country. - Aetherial
It was hell, absolute hell, I tells ya.
We were planning to go home on Sunday, but the OPP told everyone to stay the hell off the roads.
And then the power went out.
Luckily, my host (was staying at a buddy's cottage) had a friend down the road who had a cottage with a generator, so we decamped to that "cottage" (more of a luxury home) for all of Sunday - made steaks, drank wine and beer, watched 10 straight hours of football, walked the dogs in the snow.
Monday morning Highway 11 was still closed in both directions, so we had to drive due east to Dorset, then down 35 and then work our way to the top of the 404.
10/10 would do again - would just bring more snowpants and higher boots.

Late on this, but iv never been to a leafs game in Toronto. for someone out of town, I cant take advantage of the cheap weekday games. Id have to take 2 days off work to go.
so basically, can go to a Saturday game..which is probably a lot more expensive - senstroll
Tonight is going to be another strong buyers' market. People will stay home instead of working downtown due to the snow.

How many snowpants does one need?
Would the same snowpant not be good for several outdoor excursions?
Unless by "snowpants" you simply mean an extra layer of jogging pants.

Snowpants get wet - from the snow, and from the sweat.

How far away are you from Toronto? Like no GO train service far?
**Edit now seeing you mention Ottawa - that's a no GO train service area for sure :-( Sucks that you can't take advantage of the silly cheap early week ticket prices without burning 2 days off**.

This is me today......woke up at 545, looked at phone and weather and said "eff that" and went back to sleep for another hour - it was glorious.
I am fine with the snow personally, including driving in it but I've lived in snowy places for alot of my life (Barrie, Orillia, Sault Ste. Marie) so maybe that's why - it's the morons in the great city of Toronto that drive me nuts when it snows.
The idiot line kinda starts at about highway 88 and goes south from there when it comes to winter driving in my experience. They need to put up big ass highways signs saying things like "No Bro', your lowered Honda Civic with low profile tires and super sweet rims isn't going to cut it in the snow, go get some god dammed steelies and winter tires on that POS with the fart can on the exhaust".
