Norris for Trouba?
Straight up hockey deal. The age and speed of Trouba offsets the extra years and potential injury prone-ness of Norris. |
|
|
|
Amadio:0 goals in his last 10 games
Pinto:0 goals in his last 13 games
Cousins:1 goal in his last 15 games
Greig:0 goals in his last 13 games
Gaudette:5 goals in his last 7 games
now guess who got the least amount of Ice time...Green needs to be fired he IS smith 2.0
also the reason the sens D have no more than 1G, 4G total is THEY DONT SHOOT, especially on the PP they keep trying for the finesse goal....0-5 VS the worst PK in league is a total and complete embarrassment.
2 point improvement over last year, wippy doo this team still has crap coaching and too many players that float in the D zone. |

I'd be warry to make a trade that diminishes their scoring even more, but may eat those words if Norris is hurt again.
The length of Norris' contract will make most teams wary, New York even more so considering they're trying to get out of Trouba situation.

I’d do it.
I know Trouba has regressed a bit but he’s only 30. Seems like getting Dion Phaneuf back in the day. Not what he was but has some value to add to the existing roster.
I think Pinto has it in him to be a top 6 guy, just having a rough year so far.
I just don’t see Trouba coming to Canada when he has been vocal that his wife’s medical career in the USA is just as important as his hockey career.
Norris likely increased his value last night but needs more for teams to touch that contract.

Solid but unspectacular win for the Sens. Ullmark has had 3 solid starts. The Chabot - Jensen pairing has been great, with the rest of the defence making fewer mistakes. The team needs to get more offence from Pinto, Greig and others. The top end players - Stutzle, Tkachuk, Batherson, even Norris - have been great.
Time to rack up some points against mediocre teams at home.
As for Norris for Trouba - whatever minor gains we make on the defensive side are more than negated by loss of offence. I feel that the last 2 Norris shoulder injuries were due to - 1. rehab was incorrect path for original injury and 2. shoulder didn't hold up in impact at medium speed with immovable metal goalpost. If we can re-establish Norris as a 35+ goal scorer over an entire season, then an $8M cap hit in a near $100M cap world will seem like a solid deal. The prior shoulder injuries will always be a factor but it is a risk that I think a lot of teams would be willing to take. |

Like it or not, this coaching staff is here for another year or 2. The aren't going anywhere based on their contract lengths and this team can't afford to be paying for coaches who don't coach here.
As for Trouba .... at $8 million we did not have the cap space and quite frankly, his best days are behind him, and he won't play in Canada. I'm just a bit surprised at how badly that NYR/Trouba relationship has degraded. Basically the Rangers just did a salary dump of the whole thing. Norris for Trouba .... no way do I do that deal even if Trouba were willing to waive his NTC.
What Ottawa needs is another d-man, not a big secret. But there really isn't anything out there at this point. But it is clear that Sanderson needs some help with a qualified d-man. |

Man it's sad. My cousin used to live in Buffalo - went there growing up. I can't believe that the Sabres last playoff game was 26 April 2011.
Top 4 scorers in the NHL:
1. Daniel Sedin
2. Martin St. Louis
3. Corey Perry
4. Henrik Sedin
*Only Ovechkin and Stamkos are non-retired NHLers in the top 13 scorers. Giroux is the only other one in the top 27 scorers. Actually Kane is there too. So 24 of the top 27 top scorers are not even in the NHL anymore, including Selanne (who retired a decade ago).
Yikes. Man I'm not even trolling, I'd be rioting outside KeyBank Center |

St. Louis blues hired Jim Montgomery. He was awarded the coach of the year just last year (18 months ago). He now has the Blues 4-0-1 in the past 5 games.
Don't tell me if he replaced Travis Green that this team wouldn't improve - where they are even competing for playoff spot. Great coaching can wonders |

Sorry, that's a ridiculous notion. The Sens would owe Green for 3.5 more years. We can't afford that kind of largesse ...... we don't have that kind of cash, and that is assuming Montgomery would even consider Ottawa.
Besides, if you want to start that kind of comparison .... Green and co. are 4-1-1 over the last 6 games.

Alfie coming over to talk with Pinto who is clearly frustrated and wants that goal so bad - that's awesome to see |

F***ing disgusting loss. They should've had a regulation win in this one. Chabot is trash, keeps bobbling the puck every time.
Jensen made a horrible decision giving Palmeri soo much room on that PP, cost us the game |
|
|
|
sens PK is so passive they might as well not even be there, worst PP of the league and they go 2 for 2....
it is clear that audlauer dont give a poop about winning with the hire of smith 2.0.... |

Here's a chuckle for ya:
This was posted saying Dylan Larkin wanted out of Detroit.
https://x.com/reporterchr...&t=a16ZXxTnwcG3fEUdk7nS_g
It seems it may have been a revenge post, as someone explains:
"Apparently some were saying that this was started by a Sens fan to prove that BS rumors can be spread fast just like it did with Tkachuk this week when the New York Post said Tkachuk was the Rangers top trade target."
Have a nice night! |
