Defense is poor and goaltending is below average.

Bruins won't make the playoffs.
But will that cost Sweeney his job? I hope so. But I'm not confidant.

They need to blow this team up and do a FULL rebuild. No patchwork crap. Unfortunately they are stuck with Swayman and his 8.25M cap hit.

Actually, Swayman's no movement clause doesn't kick in until the 26/27 season.

Can't believe I would ever say this, but I'm looking forward to Lindholm getting back on the ice. He was actually playing like he did that first full season when McAvoy was out. Get him back and put him on the 1st unit power play and Lohrie on the 2nd and get the $9M waste of money off the ice. The only 1D trait McAvoy shows is TOI.

Swayman's play this season acts just like a NMC.

Sweeney will see this and probably sign Sacco to an extension.

But hey we got Kastelic for another few years so at least we have that. I do like his game.

The way they are playing defensively as a team…they will be out of a playoff spot in less than two weeks.

Before anybody responds…

PLAYOFFS? You kidding me? I just hope we can win a game.

They need a proper rebuild.

So if not making the playoffs means Sweeny (and Neely?) get fired, that would be a good thing.

Bring up (frank)ing Poitras, Lysell and Merkulov and let them all play. This team is stale as poop right now.

How can you keep putting the same #1 PP unit on the ice time after time after time...talk about insanity! The 2nd unit is way more effective at getting chances. How can they not shake things up there...it's mind boggling!

Read this and thought to myself: " ahh the Joe Sacco era has begun".

Monty: Lets put the lines in a blender every 20 seconds until something works, then do it again.

Sacco: The lines haven't really been working, but lets see how it develops for the next 20 games.

We have literally swung to the opposite end of the spectrum when it comes to line juggling. I know there is only so much Sacco can do, but I think its time to bring some guys up from Providence and let them have at it.

I mean they could always try Kastelic on the first line, Coyle at Goalie and maybe stick Brazeau and Beecher on defense. Gotta try everything before bringing up young talent.

In a previous thread I said that they might make the playoffs as a bubble team. IF they do, and thats a big if, it will likely buy Sweeney/Neely another year of "retool and get worse".

I would say they cant make the playoffs, but Murphy's Law dictates that the outcome that will do the maximum amount of damage is the most likely to happen, and happen first.

5 on 5 lines are one thing but the 1st PP unit has been "mostly" the same all season and they suck...but we keep throwing them out there night after night hoping somehow they will change. First and foremost, get Mc-poopty off that unit...he couldn't quarterback a powderpuff football team.

Bruins are fractionally better than Montreal, Detroit, Ottawa. Yet the NHL network, NHL.com and the general hockey media elevate their status. They have been in the playoffs because they have played 3 to 5 games more than teams chasing them.

After Tampa sweeps them the next 2 games, they will be in the kiddie pool fighting for their playoff lives.

Like the Rangers, respect your fan bases, but am so fatigued with the Medias compulsion to felate these original 6 teams.

At least you are not the Rangers, who have self destructed in epic proportions.

The Bruins will fight and battle, but just do not have the horses anymore.

I don't disagree entirely with your take but this is also coming from a Blackhawks fan. Chicago could be down 4-0. Conor Bedard is 0-9 on the dot and -3 on the night, but the highlight package is Conor Bedards one shot on net. Speaking of felating.

As constructed, this team isn't a contender, it's at best a bubble team. At worst a team that isn't bad enough to get a top 5 pick

So what does Sweeney do? Any bets? I bet he makes a play to get them into the playoffs as a bubble team. Overpaying for middle six scoring talent, maybe more depth. Will likely be a very disappointing trade deadline.

Sorry to say, but in this current state, hope they miss so Sweeney and Neely potentially lose their jobs. Needs to happen now. Bad

This year aside, Bruins have had good regular seasons recently.

Not sure how their status has been "elevated"...

If Swayman continues his trend of mediocre play, it doesn't matter what Sweeney does - Bruins are toast. And sad to say, that's a positive for the team going forward.
