What’s causing this?

It's the Defencemen's fault.

IMHO Shooters are adapting to the Goalies going down and covering the lower part of the net. I notice a lot more high shots around the shoulders and mask going in.

This as well.

I agree with your equipment comment as well. It can be the combination of things.

I hope they continue to get rid of some of the superfluous padding. Bring more athleticism back to the position.

Considering that we might actually need a more mobile left D, I've been thinking about either targeting Provorov or Byram. Byram seems like the obvious choice and given what Buffalo surrendered, we could offer something like:

Raty, 1st, Hogz, Desharnais to Buff
Byram and Greenway/Mcleod (I like Jack Quinn but we might have to add) to Van

I think management was (and still is) serious... they're just not gonna sell someone off for pennies. Trading big names doesn't happen overnight. They've put the whole team on notice with the trade news, and if things don't improve they'll make the changes needed.

Fire lit (hopefully)

How? With Hronek coming back and Hughes healthy how are we going to squeeze a top 4 D into the current salary structure considering Petey and Miller are mostly likely going nowhere.
- LordHumungous

Have 4.5m at the TDL. Goes from there.

Also helps account for missing the net & less goal scoring as well.

All in on Byram for sure. Sabres forever rebuild going nowhere once again.

I think it was overplayed in the media, however, I do think there are issues and a lot of them come from Petey’s immaturity. As well as Miller’s overbearing personality.
- Pacificgem

A guy who thrives off of positive reinforcement and a guy who uses negative emotions to keep the fire going in his heart, shocking that they don't mesh well.

It's funny that Petey is the one so many think is immature, it's probably because old school types tend to favour the rough and tumble, angry, in your face style. It really seems to me like he's the one who shows much more emotional maturity, since he doesn't let his feelings get the best of him even when he's going through a lot, he's a pretty stoic guy.

That clip of him and Kuzmenko making fun of Miller smashing his stick on the boards is so funny

The need for a legit top 4 LHD & Willander bump Myers to 3rd pair & the PK cannot happen soon enough. Even if a hole upfront is created do it. I doubt PA is on the same page as me & it will try my antsy patience lol

I think something around Miller(if he waves) for Byram/Power + Cozens would work well for both teams.

Good take but doesn’t explain EP being off his game for long stretches. If Miller gets into his head then he doesn’t handle it well & get the message in his own way. Petey has to be hinself & bring it more consistently. Miller oughta shut up & get his game back to where it was. Ppl cannot listen to ppl who themselves are not pulling their own weight. Never cry wolf can ensue.

Imo Sabres need a jolt & who better than Miller lol

Vancouver living although expensive is night & day to being in Buffalo. That alone is why no Miller likely deal. Hope I’m wrong like I usually am lol

Miller is an out doorsy type. I thought Buffalo area was good for that kind of stuff.

You would never get Power and Cozens for Miller. JT is not worth that.
Power is 22 and was 1st OA in 2021
Cozens 7OA and Byram 4OA in 2019 are only 23. Miller will be 32 in March and has a no trade. He is not going to Buffalo.
It's Rangers or nothing.

That might be a spot for him, as it is home.
Probably get Sillinger and Ceulemans 21 6'2 200 RHD for him. Maybe a late pick as well.

Yeah nothing to do with the fact that most goalies are chokers in big situations lol
