That's a lot of coin to be paying a defensive specialist

What is Pouty’s salary as a percentage of the cap? About 13%? Is that terrible? His production this season needs to be better but the kid’s been so consistent over his career:

443 games, 180 goals, 261 assists, 441 points, +53

The team isn’t paying $11M+ for the results of this season, they are paying for the stats above, which are insanely good. Most players in the game today who have stats like that are making $10M - $11M+ a season now. It’s a gross amount of money but that’s the business, and if the Canucks want to compete, they gonna have to pay for goals and assists.

Why is everyone so fixated on how much money a kid makes in the first year of his contract? Averaged out over the years it will be a good deal for what he brings to the table. It's so short-sighted to look at things in a single timeframe, but not unexpected for Canuck fans, who are some of the dumbest in the league. I hope he gets traded to Columbus so we can enjoy his greatness every night, tickets are $50 a piece lol.

Secondly, his Corsi and Fenwick are both 55%, which means the Canucks are controlling the puck more often than not when he's on the ice. He made a nice play on the first goal and got an assist, he was good at both ends of the ice last night, stop whining all the time.

Much like the Leafs, who haven't won a God damned thing since 67, Canuck fans and management are short-sighted and the fans drive anyone who's good out of town. It's not just by chance the Canucks have never won anything, they do it to themselves.

Thanks Yorky.

I wonder if the drama queen and media noise will die down over Canucks and EP40?

Well he did say just win and it all goes away. Any questions?

This whole Pouty or Miller trade question seems so shortsighted to me. While Miller’s “warrior” aura is attractive to a certain type of hockey fan, stats don’t lie. Pouty is a far better player over his career than Miller.

Pouty has the potential to get better while Miller is going to decline with age, and we’re already witnessed what the pressure of being “the guy” has done to Miller’s soft brain. He absolutely melted under the pressure and scrutiny.

For me, Miller HAS to go. I have no faith in that clown and I believe the team has lost their faith in him too.

They are two completely different players, what drives me nuts about Petey is that he's so soft. But that can be overlooked when you look at how young he is and what he's accomplished over his short career, it's really impressive.

And I agree, I'm back to hating Miller, he must go!!

I think so too... I think from all the chatter he's worn out his welcome in the locker room a bit. With his age and contract, it's a pretty obvious point to sell high. He's still a great player when he's on, but it's a good chip to reset the team's makeup.

I don’t think Pouty’s soft in the sense that he’s scared to go to the hard places, but soft in the sense that every time he goes into the corner I think he’s going to break in half.

He just such a twig.

For me, my biggest issue is his aloof personality. I felt the same with Naslund. I can see how it drives guys like Miller nuts.

100%. Sell high. But have the Canucks ever sold high? It seems this franchise always holds on for too long and by the time they do sell, they have caused the value to decrease.

As you know, I get so frustrated with how the team is managed. More so than the player’s execution. It infuriates me to the point where I can’t even watch the games sometimes. I need therapy.

If Hellybyuck pulls a Lou again and chokes in the PO's the Jets as good as they are are going nowhere. Helly needs to figure out his Playoff choking...

Yeah, it's not that he won't go into the corners or dirty areas and battle for pucks, it's that he won't grab someone in a scrum and he's weak, the only people he'd probably win an arm wrestling match with is Reuby & Vantel.

That fact that he's seemingly a weirdo person, is of no consequence for me, what he does on the ice is what's important. From what I've been told, the guys know he's a strange kid, but he's also not a locker room cancer, he needs to grow up but he's a good person, he's just weird.
