I'm not faulting you for not catching the sarcasm. I'm simply responding to you for calling me an ass for no reason. |

Coots 11 minutes TOI +2 goal and assist. Laughton almost 19 minutes, I didn't see the whole game, but why such a spread. Is this how Torts taught Laughton about the give away last game |

Crosby, 48 points in 46 games. Time has not caught up to him. poopty GMing has caught up to the team. Plus/minus is a BS stat for a player. Should be attributed to all 5 players on the ice. - WhiskeyMan
not a big +- guy but -17 or a large - is something to look at. I am not saying Crosby is bad, he just cant carry or will his line to out play other lines, like he use to. My guess he will have a renaissance of sorts, I don't think he is done by a long stretch. |

I think JD is finally completely healthy. I also think he listens to what is said about him and put a chip on his shoulder. Didn't help that Andrae looked real good and Grans looked decent. - WhiskeyMan
JD is coming along finally. Being able to stay on the ice is the key for him. Shaw will coach him up. Both Andrae and Grans I feel are ready for the NHL and should be the 3rd pairing for the Flyers next season, or maybe sooner depending on the deadline. |

Why wouldn't Torts want to make the Playoffs? Did you think there was a possibility that he would purposely try to lose games to get a better draft pick?
It the responsibility of the coach and players to try their best to win games.
Tanking is the job of the GM, they decide on how bad the team is by keeping or trading away players. Look at what Chicago did the season before they got Bedard. - WhiskeyMan
Yes, I agree Torts is wired to win and will coach that way, thus its up to Briere to take away his options so the young players get in the game and can be evaluated. |

Well, in this case, it has been a running joke ever since Eklund (I think) said that Risto would be coveted because he is a playoff type defenseman despite having never been in the playoffs.

I would take a Jersey 2nd round pink in the next draft and an expiring contract for Risto. I would expect the Flyers would have to eat some money from Ristos contract. - WhiskeyMan
I expect the Flyers to get at least a 2nd round pick for RIsto with no slary retention. If the Flyers choose to retain salary, they might be able to get a 1st. |

No but it embarassing that you will not admit that Risto is playing very good hockey right now and has been this entire year! |

What’s the deal with the way Torts is using the captain? Zero PP time. Barely used on the PK. He appears to be ok physically. Why not use him? |

Well there is rhetoric and then there is the facts. He was mediocre again last night.
You've repeatedly said that Ristolainen is the Flyers best defenseman and have said that he is one of the best in the league. You've repeatedly said that Sanheim SUCKS and that Charlie McAvoy is not one of the best defenseman in the NHL. Despite being universally ranked as such and being a top 5 finalist for the Norris trophy. This is your track record on defenseman. Yet you have the gall to say I'm embarrassing. Reality is that you're not a serious person. Despite you being proven wrong literally every single day, you continue. Speaking of embarrassing.

The only sad reality is you don't know squat about the game nor do you keep tabs on players around the league. In Boston, its now common knowledge that McAvoy has played like crap every since he signed his contract. In fact, Neely hinted the other day the Bruins might be sellers and need a hard reset, and McAvoy is one of the players that is being discussed to be moved. Up until last season Sanheim did Suck with a captial 'S'. That is why the Flyers wanted to trade him and get our from under this contract. Again, you just will not acknowlege the reality. And finally, Risto has been the Flyers most consistent defenseman after the first month of this season, and still to me is the best defenseman they have at killing plays. Risto will most likely be traded by the deadline and once you will be wrong and embarassed when the Flyers get a nice return on him, without covering half his salary which is what you predicted. You have been consistently wrong with just about everything you post here daily, so it will be nothing new to the rest of us. |

Another reality we just have to accept. Couts is a shell of himself. He is slow and often behind the play, and his defensive game has slipped also. He really is nothing more than an overpaid bottom 6 forward at this point in this career sadly. Cates is the Flyers best center, and though I love the kid, if he is the team's best center, the team is not very good. Happy to see Frost picking it up lately, he is scoring goals getting to the net front, that has been the key for him. |

I don't see it. He doesn't look any slower than usual. He's not a guy whose game ever depended on speed anyway. Why would his defensive game slip? |

As expected, here comes the fallacies and the fantasy. It's hysterical that you would post and actually prove my point. Without any awareness of doing so. You're not a serious person and nobody is going to take you serious until you change
Defensive metrics. Ranks on the Flyers
xGA% Ristolainen ranks 7th
SCA/60 Ristolainen ranks 4th
HDCA/60 Ristolainen ranks 7th

Which team that is trying to win the cup can take on $5mil in season?
No retention=3rd round pick at best
50% retained=second round at best
50% retained plus another contract coming back=1st round pick
There is .01% chance Risto gets traded in season without salary retention or a salary coming back.

The post I responded to said that he would be traded without retention. I thought it was a valid follow up question.
