No team is giving up a 1st for Ersson. |

Ersson is probably worth a 3rd round pick at most unless that team is playoff-bound and desperate for a goalie inside of 2 weeks before the TDL. I think Fedotov tops out as a solid backup with more work. Kolosov is the only one of the three that I think has legit starter potential -- he's just not there yet.

All 3 goalies are too inconsistent to fetch anything of value. |

If they get offered a 2nd for Ersson they should jump on it. Go with Kolosov and Fedotov the rest of the way.
I like Ersson and I think he is capable of being better than he has been this year. However, I would be happy to get a 2nd for him. |

Remember when Bill did this blog? We’d get the projected starting lineups, some insight in to the matchups, and a little history like what Behn Wilson did on this day in 1982. Today, we get silly questions about Sam Ersson fetching a 1st round pick.
Happy Birthday to former Flyer Lou Angotti (1/16/1938)
Bob Froese recorded his first career shutout for the Flyers (1/16/1983)
You’re welcome! |

Torts today, spoke about Coots, Laughton and Hath giving up the tying goal with under 5 left. Spoke about Farabee back in, Lycksell out. When asked about Lycksell, said it was because he lost 2 puck battles along the boards in the 3rd period. Noted, he needs to be better but not a lot of TOI and still learning the coverages.
HMMM, Maybe Lycksell should have given up the tying goal, would still be in the lineup |

Correct, he needs to make a weak turnover in the neutral zone and then casually go for a line change while the other team attacks the net for the game tying goal. Then you will be declared untouchable.
This is an example of how full of poop Tortorella is. |

he really got a long look in those 8 minutes a night. Ollie has no future with the flyers. never really had one to start. |

Logan Thompson gets traded for two 3rd round picks. But Ersson is worth a 1st?
Not long ago the suggestion was Ersson should be LTIR'd for the rest of the season. Because of a day-to-day injury. |

It will be much better for him to learn those coverages sitting in the press box.

just makes zero sense, you can tell Torts likes the kid, the kid has earned the shot, you are sitting someone like Farabee, give him 14 minutes a night and see what you have. Plus, why not give Coots more minutes, along with MM. I get Torts wants to win, but someone needs to save him from himself

They have fewer regulation wins than anyone in the eastern conference. They are dead in the water tiebreaker wise right now.

Vancouver needs help on D. Would you send Cam York for Willander? Maybe take back Deshaurnies for cap related . |

I don't know. Seems that kid is a few years away from being in the show. Plus the Flyers have Andre down in the A too. |

It would be asinine for the Flyers to trade Ersson. Since Hart's departure, the Flyers do not have a reliable goalie either at the NHL or AHL level, plus they have one goalie (Kolosov) that is pretty much holding the team hostage threatening to go back to the KHL if he is sent down to the Phantoms where he belongs so he can develop. Ersson is the best option the Flyers have currently, and probably for the next couple of years. The Flyers don't have the cap space to go sign a goalie, and it would be stupid of them to do that anyway. |
