And clearly something has massively fractured since then. None of us know what, but Allvin and Rutherford do and they're taking action on it. Have to believe they know better than us on what needs to be done - NewYorkNuck
Thats the part I don't fully believe - I think it's 100% the Van/TSN media. Again, I'm not doubting theres a rift between players, but is it worth trading JT and expecting or accepting a horrible return? NOPE
Or....all these horsesh&t narratives like "they decided 6 weeks ago one of them had to go" is just pure lies. Cus here we are 3 weeks into jan and no ones traded. Both players are underperforming YES - but so is the entire team -Hughes.
I posted that because you'd have two aneurysms if that happened - NewYorkNuck
It would be the final straw with this team. They would be done. Actually, come to think of it yes, please trade for Bo so I can move onto a better franchise

I mean, you don't have to believe any of it. But management clearly thinks differently, and people with a lot more access to the team have been saying it... so...

Do they tho? Based on Alvins presser I don't think so.
Alvin said - always trying to make our team better, toughest part has been trying to evaluate the team with so many injuries. But you see the potential of the team with recent wins against Oilers and Leafs. Said, we're always looking to improve, and we believe we have a good team.
Specifically, comments about Petey and Miller - feels bad for the rumours and noise, wants to create a better environment but it's hard when the media are constantly making poop up.
Dakota - lower body, making progress, still not practicing with team.
He mentioned losing key players like JT for 10 games, Petey for 5, Quinn 5, Boeser 8, Hronek 21 and Demko forever - would put a strain on any team - which i'm sure will be construed as excuses. Realistically, what team woulndt struggle with losing #1 & 2 C, #1 & 2 D and #1 G???
He thinks the D is capable but have been inconsistent obviously. Angry about home ice record.
Don't think it's going to be terrible, especially if there are other teams trying to bid. Not like the Kesler situation where it was more of a handcuff.
Was reading someone relating this situation to the Tkachuk situation a little bit ago, where everyone was trying to lowball Calgary until Florida stepped in with a good offer and got the deal sealed. Might be the same situation, one team is going to step up to the plate before the others do. - NewYorkNuck
Miller still has to waive though, so that's a big difference. I can see him holding a grudge and only waiving for 1 or 2 teams. Not that I blame him, they just gave him the NTC ... but I'm starting to feel like the leave was more imposed. Like take a leave, or else we discipline and potentially becomes more public.

This year's injuries and absences are way closer to the norm. Last year's health was an anomaly. With their travel sched, this team will always need to be built with enough depth to cover substantial time lost for several players. The defense depth was not near good enough this year, even with everyone healthy. They effed up big time there. Really, they got lucky or did a great job identifying Lankinen and it gave them a lot of points early they really had no business getting with their shot totals and quality chances.
It’s not Miller. He’ll play. It’s Tocchet. He wants him gone. - TurdFergeson
Nope, thats not true in any way. According to Alvin. Said he's proud of how Tocc has handled eveything so far this season. Commuincation is awesome and he's a good coach, long term. Zero urgency to make changes, but will talk about picking up the club option with his contract soon.
Said he thought Miller was awesome against the Oilers, loved the way he played against Drai/McD. And said a flu bug is going through the team and some players are out and didn't show up at the event last night. Alvin, said he's confident this is a playoff team, we had a lot of challenges first half. Excited to see a healthy team that needs to be better in the second half.

If management didn't think so, they wouldn't be AGGRESSIVELY trying to trade him. So either someone above Allvin is pulling the strings, or Allvin is just saying the right things at the right time to not lower any trade values.

Is there a team you can think of that didn't have there #1, 2, 3 forwards - # 1, 2 D and #1 G out for significant stretches? There were stretches where they overlapped and were all out.
I don't think its the norm at all based on this years stats & best teams.
A quick look around the league:top 3/4 teams in each division.
Oilers, Vagas, LA, Jets, Colorado, Carolina, Dallas (Sequin) - all VERY healthy. Minnesota (Kapriz/Spurg) Wash (Ovy only), Toronto (matthews Only) Florida (Barkov 10gms) Tampa not really. None of these teams match that narrative.

How do you explain Miller walking out on his team during a crucial time in the schedule? Wasn't an injury, addiction, or mental health condition or he would have gone on IR for cap savings. The team wanted him to be a leader and he couldn't meet their expectations. Instead, he's become a distraction.
You handle the Vancouver media like Kesler and Mitchell did. It's so fucking easy, but Miller is too braindead to figure it out.

Where is this term aggressively in CAPS coming from? you? patterson? Richardface and donnie? the van media? or Just more speculation, projections and pot stirring?
or Could it be that the Rags called and said "hey, heres a bunch of poopty, mediocre players - wanna trade Miller?"
and Alvin said - "no, fawk off" - Also 'don't tamper with our players"
trying to make the team better as Alvin explained, can mean a lot of things. Take calls from inquiring teams, consider possible deals, it certainly doesnt' automatically mean Millers getting traded.
if the Canucks are serioulsy about trading their #1 center - they have to - at bare minimum - get one (C) coming back or no thanks!

There's a lot more chatter and information out there about management trying to trade Miller over the past few weeks than there's been about them not trading him – or blowing off random calls as you've laid out. If you like to believe that the whole media storm around Miller is made up and nothing is actually happening – his agent has been given a green light to look around, trade proposals made, working all day to get a deal done with NY, etc etc – go ahead.
This is from the Athletic, so media alert, but they have much more access than anyone here:
As Saturday unfolded, Canucks hockey operations huddled in a board room at Rogers Arena throughout the day in hopes of concluding a trade that would send Miller to the Rangers, the team that drafted him in 2011.
While talks were clearly serious, the deal didn’t get across the finish line. In fact, the deal didn’t get close enough for Miller to be formally asked to waive his no-trade clause, according to a league source.
Yes, Allvin said he's trying to make the team better. Sometimes that means trading a problem child away.

How do I explain it? I don't you a$$hole, how in the hot fawk do any of us know whats going on in his personal life.
Seriously, what the fawk are you talking about? You're a grown man, and thats honestly the narrative you're drawing from his hiatus. You have NO IDEA why he took time away from the team. You made all that poop up. Wake the fawk up, this is happening in every sport, just because your dinosaur, archaic brain cant understand it, doesnt mean you should try to pretend like you can fathom what these atheletes are going through mentally. You're 100% the problem, and this horsepoop narrative that youre projecting onto him suddenly becomes his "fault" - and the "justification" for poopting all over him and running him out of town.
