The Rangers just do not draft or develop young players very well as an organization. Tim Stutzle should've went first overall but Laffy is 4th in scoring for his draft year and he was very good in the playoffs last year for the Rangers. I'd take him any day. But, if the Canucks are trading Miller they need a young center in the return, I would think.

I read an article about the Ranger having to make a decision between letting Kakko or Laf go. They decided to trade Kakko to Seattle for two draft picks and Will Borgen. Not that great of a return.

Aren’t they essentially same value as #1 and #2 overall picks? Their career numbers aren’t too far off. I don’t think Laf’s value is very high outside of fan hype. Great size but ain’t he slow? The Canucks need speed in a big way.

His skating has been a bit of a question yes. He could fit with Tocchet here but won't give us the best of what Miller did on his best days. Canucks do need speed in the worst way.

I really can’t see how they can’t suspend both players though from an objective POV. They both essentially did the same thing, McDavids is a carbon copy of Matthews / Dahlin.

They may they to spin the narrative that McDavids was more of while battling and Myers more planned or whatever- it’s BS but I can see the DOPS trying to play that card.
