Jim Nill was exceptional. It hurt us when he left not only because he left, but he took the foundation of the scouting dept. as well. Lots to recover from. DAL is a rock solid team,so it's gonna be a test. I'm not upset about the losses this past few games, shows ares we really need to focus on.
Watching NHL Netowork showing the ECHL Heritage game - Toledo vs K'zoo. Bednar's struggling, the team's struggling. Always curious to see how the ECHL guys do. There's much work to do deeper in our system, but the work's going to bring us a better pool of players. I will say the -Eyes have some pretty solid skaters so this loss (potential...) was/is well-fought......if that makes sense.

It’s so tough to pull focus from Augustine in terms of the net, Pellikka in terms of defense. I love the ECHL, but haven’t been able to follow. Driving from Michigan to Toledo to see a game was a lot of fun and the league is a different entity entirely. After talking to Watson we talked about a Cossa/Augustine tandem and he’d love that. It feels near inevitable that Cossa will move up if Augustine comes in. Lyon’s earned a raise, Husso seems likely to be let go into free agency. It’s been weird reaching out to teams where we have prospects whether in Canada, Europe or in the NCAA. So much variety in those paths and with the CHL coming to the NCAA it’s a “wait and see” on wha rosters will look like starting next year. Bednar has had some good runs, hoping he has a strong finish.
