Logical take on the trade. Sorry to here that you have stepped aside. So in reality, the 4 or 5 franchises that you were covering still have a "writer", but you will only occasionally drop in. So basically 2/3rds of the league have no writer, or a passive one. Ouch.
I think you are going to find that Necas looks a heck of a lot like Rantanen when playing with Mack and Makar. You got the better player but paid a hell of a price.
Not being rude, but this is a terrible trade for the Canes. Now Tulsky is going to have his hand forced into paying Rantanen $14M to save face and keep him from walking.
Coming from an Avs fan: This is a deal the Avs had to make. Mikko is very talented, but very lazy. He would disappear for a few games at a time, and then start pouring it on. Every time he played away from MacKinnon, he could not generate enough offense on his own. He is not worth $14M per season and the Avs made the right decision here. I don't like the comments he made saying he was blindsided and he would agree to a discount. It would have happened already and it's just not making him look good saying these things. He turned down 11.25 million and possibly 11.75 million. At this point, wishing you the best #96
