Whelp... that first period pretty much sunk us. That first goal they gave up by Lyon was painful to see. That soft goal on their first shot set the tone. You simply can't give up 4 goals in the first period to a team like Tampa and think you're going to come out on top. Oh well...

Also... sent a couple of PM's to you. Forgot I even had an inbox. LOL First time I've ever used it.

Just got them! Yeah, usually when Lyon gets equipment on the puck you’re good. That felt bad. I admire the 2nd period effort and love that the coach will attempt to turn things around. Won’t always work, but good to see him working. It’s a long time to think about this one. Players not in the 4 nations will likely flock to a sunny beach for a few days. I knew one player in 2010 who went to Jamaica to just get some vitamin D and it was players everywhere during the all star break.

I feared a game like this against Tampa today. Unfortunately I was right.

Rough first was just too much. Admire the 2nd effort but not good and a lot of time to think about it now.

Lyon was definitely off his game and it was right to pull him. Kid has a good mind-set so I'm sure he'll recover. Was said in the pre-match write-up & comments; cannot give TBL any room.....we did. The painful thing is that we lost a chance to go 1pt up in them.

Gotta heal and analyze over the break....this is the time to re-set, build different game plans, work on different schemes, fix some G issues.

That being said, I'm not a big fan of these extended breaks, especially back-to-back like this & the Olympics. I also worry about injuries, someone's gonna get hurt and it's gonna impact their team. On the other hand, will be kinda cool to watch 4N. Interestingly, the current rugby 6 Nations was 4 Nations (England, Scotland, Ireland, & Wales....France came in then Italy....). The players selected to represent their countries play in a couple of regular series (like the NHL), but the regular teams continue their competition during 6 Nations..... If an international player is injured a player from that country is called up to play 6N.

If this Hockey 4N thing catches on, I worry about the drain on the "A" replacing the 4N-injured player....noted above. We don't have the pool that rugby does to absorb injuries which could knock a surging NHL team out of SCPO contention. I mean, injury risks everywhere and all that....wholly agree. Just makes me nervous if we lose Rayzor and Larkin....or either guy, for an extended period of time - GRG would pay the price, we would pay the price. I dunno, tough call but the 4N will be cool.

Am wondering what moves are coming by the TDL. Do we make a move? I'm interested in Couzins (sp?), but at what price?

The thing I like is how we regroup, just don't like that we have to so often, but that's reflective of some critical gaps on the team. TBL seemed a bit off-kilter in the 2d, like they let up or lost the ability to adjust to how we came out a bit. They're still such a good team. And we're in a beast of a division.....

Kane seems to be heating up, that dude can soooo take control of a game at times - it's incredible to watch, especially at his age. What a player!
