just checking, but if they buyout JT Miller this July 1st I think his cap hit is 5.8 million per year instead of 8 million

I’d imagine lots of conversations will be had the next couple weeks because you can only kill so much time oiling yourself with sun tan lotion and watch a couple hockey games until you realize you need an upgrade on defense

I feel awful feeling this way, but I want to trade Lafreniere

it's devestating that last year's playoffs didnt propel him to the next level, and this year he's actually dropped two levels

I just can’t see Drury giving up on him after that 7 year extension. I think Drury is gonna want to see what he does this offseason going into next year before considering it

no you are different

any trade no matter what it is, you will spend the next 8 years complaining about it

like complainng about trading JT MIller every day for years, and now that we have him back, you will complain every day for the next 7 years that we have him back

you are a special kind of absolutely insane mutha effer

- jimbro83

Yes trading Miller for Namestnikov was the wrong move. Yes, now re-trading for 32 year old Miller when this team is out of the playoff race and multiple players have given up on their coach (multiple reports of that) is not the right time to be wasting picks and prospects. But continue Tom.

So does Miller's contract end this year? I must have missed that detail.

And there is no way he can help us during the prime years of Shesterkin's contract.

I also thought his performance in last years playoffs was going to jump start his superstardom. Remember thinking he was the next captain once they got rid of Trouba. He was playing with a lot of passion. Disappointed in this season to say the least.

Hard to evaluate this year as everyone has dropped down two levels. Laf just sticks out more bc of the new deal and hes a 1OA. I would trade him for the right player but rather he work out here.

Miler is the exact player NY was missing but as you mentioned wrong age and window to get him.

Its why I think zib kreider Panarin are all gone by summer '26. Miller and tro will be the vets on this team along with some new blood.

Yep this is what is going to happen. You can’t have a team of just kids or players in their mid 20s. You need Miller and Trocheck to lead the next core of players once more players are shipped out

We’re getting years 32-37, not a guy in his prime.
