We’re getting years 32-37, not a guy in his prime.

I get it, you don't think it will work. Can we stop whining about it and move on. This is the team we have now. No amount of Hockeybuzz female doging is going to change things. I like to come on here and see the trade talk etc., but this cycle of Drury sucks because I had a better idea is stupid.

Trying to reverse full judgement on Drury until product is finished. Just don’t see him rolling with zib kreider panarin into ‘26 when Tro and miller locked up long term. Those are his style players. The other 3 too perimeter for him.

Yep this is what is going to happen. You can’t have a team of just kids or players in their mid 20s. You need Miller and Trocheck to lead the next core of players once more players are shipped out

Exactly. This just isn’t the finished product so they look old and slow. He just better have a plan to get rid of ZiB and good replacements for Kreider/panarin in FA

Gotta be patient. Say it til I’m blue in the face but fans need to let him finish what he’s doing. He’s transforming from an identity of skill that came up short into a new identity of hard to play against hockey that generally has better success in the playoffs. A leadership shift which is probably what they needed over anything else. The thing is it doesn’t transform overnight. He can’t get rid of players all at once. Players also need to step up which hasn’t happen this year

The other day ESPN did a ranking of all the players playing in the 4 nations tournament. They polled a “panel of more than 50 ESPN broadcasters, analysts, reporters and editors.” Here is where the Rangers ranked out of 91 players (there is still one injury sub yet to be announced at the time):

91) Urho Vaakanainen (last)
78) Kaapo Kakko (honorable mention)
71) Chris Kreider
65) Vincent Trocheck
60) Mika Zibanejad
25) JT Miller
24) Adam Fox

That’s pretty accurate based on this season

I wonder how they would have ranked Panarin.

Remember the beginning of the season? He started on an 8 game point streak. He had 11 points in the first 4 games (5 goals, 6 assists). I thought he was going to crush the Rangers single season points record.

He now has 57 points in 53 games, which means since the first 4 games, he has 46 points in the past 49 games. Not terrible, but far below his production as a Ranger.
