Ya' know it's great that Z is fiinally getting this acclaim. He's been in the league for what, 8 years ? But it's almost laughable how these supposed "hockey writers'" observations and superlatives of Zack Werenski's play sound like it's the first time they've seen him play hockey. They never knew he was around?? Do they even know where Columbus is??

To be fair, he hasn't exactly set himself apart from the best defensemen in the league until the past couple of years. He's a fantastic player, but health has been an issue for him. Two of the past four complete seasons he's only played 13 and 35 games in two of them.
He's certainly in the mix now though, it helps that the Blue Jackets have better players now, which is being reflected in the standings.
