Detroit and CBJ play b2b. Need someone to get 4 pts or 2 each. No 3 pt games!

One thing I noticed about Othmann, he takes some BIG hits. Needs to do a better job at avoiding them/not putting himself in some of those spots.

I think it's a skill he's learning. I rememeber a play last night where he made a touch play to facilitate a breakout to the left of Shesty and I thought he was going to get absolutely blown up. Happily, he narrowly slipped the check.

There was one where he almost ended up on the Islander bench

That one and there was another that the camera just barely caught. He made a pass and then just kinda stood along the boards watching the isles player skating towards him. Stayed there and took a big hit

If the Rangers were going to trade Lindgren, I still thinks he gets traded. No use to keep him and still not make the playoffs if Fox and or Miller is out long term.

NY Rangers PR:
Last night, the Rangers recorded 47 hits, the most in a game since March 9, 2021 at Pittsburgh (58). It is the fourth highest hit total in the NHL this season. #NYR

It’s a shame he didn’t get a point last night because he wasn’t a bystander on any of those goals. It was a good game for him I thought. Didn’t look out of place. One shift in the 3rd that line got caved a bit but that was really it all game long

Vince Mercogliano noted that the top-three lines were largely outplayed by the Isles, who combined to outshoot (21-12), out-attempt (49-30) and out-chance (22-13) those nine forwards.

jan did vince break this down by period?

seemed like the entire 3rd was just them sitting back and letting the isles loft shots at net from far out. 24 low % chances only 5 high % for the isles. would guess most of that was in the 3rd, but i didnt see the first two.

the fox injury drives me nuts. rempe has to get better w/ his board play if he wants consistent time on ice. he's all alone on the wall and can't get the puck out, and that leads to the fox injury and penalty

This might be a blessing in disguise for Fox. He can heal up the leg a bit, rest and maybe be more able to handle any playoff run they go on. Assuming this isn’t a season ender of course, but he needs a minute away from the ice anyway

Curious to see who the PP QB will be if he’s out, Jones would be my guess, perhaps Brannstrom

i dont know about all that - it's a big if to even get in - they need him more than anyone on the blue line. the rest would have been good last year in hindsight.

brannstrom's been hurt for a while now. hit to the head in his 2nd game for the pack so definitely won't be him

edit: 5th game

He flicked the puck up and it got deflected, Rempe had nothing to do with Fox getting injured, you’re reaching here.

rempe get's the puck out of the zone and the fox play doesnt happen. simple as that.

it's one of the areas of his game i think he really needs to improve on is all. too many d zone turnovers on the wall, he'll improve. he's relatively new to the wing anyway.

oh poop I didn’t know that. Well Jones should be motivated to run with that gig in the meantime then. This would be a golden opportunity for him

I don’t think they’d miss beat defensively without him and I’m sure I’ll get killed for saying that lol

Thats what I mean, if doesn’t play til say April, that’s a good chunk of rest he’ll have had before it starts

Little by little Rempe is showing he can hang in the NHL. He looks like one the fastest rangers on the team, watching in person.

i bet he's glad he took that conditioning stint.

i've never been jones' biggest fan, but he was excellent in that 2 game cameo earlier in the month. excited to see what he can do w/ an extended run

It’s really time for Schneider to shine (if Fox is out long term). Like he’s gonna be getting over 20 minutes a game for sure, Borgen too

curious how they'll deploy jones; does he jump into foxs spot on his off side or do they move everyone up?

lindgren - borgen
urho (if miller's out) - schneider
jones - another call up

good that they've got 2 days off here

Once again you forget, I dont think making the playoffs is a cause for celebration. If they do make it, they arent winning a seven game series let alone the Cup so making the playoffs means nothing to me.

They are on a 2 game win streak, do you think they are feeling good about it? 34 shots for, 77 against. A shooting percentage of 29 and a save percentage of .948

Not exactly sustainable.
