Has any team inquired about the services of one Travis Konecny at all?

All the other insiders and the Oilers management themselves have said that goaltending isn’t on their radar. They don’t see anyone that would be available that would be a for sure upgrade on what they’ve got. I think you’re making this up.

Ummm, did you miss the part about "I have good friends out in Anaheiim, close to the organization." From the sounds of it, he has a buddy he met on an anime forum that lives near the arena. This sounds legit.

Every year I have to sit here and read and listen to all this banter about the Oilers, Leafs, Rangers and Bruins. Rangers self destruct. Bruins finally aged out and out of talent. Oilers and Leafs anointed cup favs with inconsistent play and roster holes.

While the best run organization in pro sports for the last 10 to 15 years is brushed aside. Tampa Bay Lightning

The lightning were punished by the stagnant covid era crap like no other team. Now they are buyers. Not just this year but moving forward. No team has a better core locked up at now bargain rates for the next 2 to 4 years.

Rumors of age and decline of players still in their prime is greatly exaggerated. Right now they are playing as good of hockey as they did in 2020 and 2021. Take away Vasi's first 6 games and his numbers are better than Hellebuycks.

JJ Moser is your discount Duncan Keith/Devon Toews of the future.

Find a way to add Morgan Geekie or Alex Tuch. Maybe Provorov or at least David Savard for the playoffs. They have as much a chance as anyone.

They have a pipeline of a few good prospects in Connor Geekie and Isaac Howard. Some solid Defensemen in AHL.

Cap goes up, will be a net add moving foward.

If...and big IF...the oilers want to make a change at goalie....they need one that:
1)has playoff success on his resume
2)can get streaky at the right time
3)can win a game on his own (even if he lets in a bad goal once in awhil)
4)is presently playing on a team out of the playoffs (and who won't make the playoffs)
5)is a goalie making too much money that the team wants to jettison cheaply

Gibson only fits on the last two categories.

Outside of some huge risks (Korpo, Mrzek, etc) there is only ONE name that fits all those categories....Binnington

And St. Louis is on the edge of contention.

So it would have to be two contracts going back plus a 1st rd. Numbers wise, Pickford, Aarvidson works.

But I doubt st. louis lets him go. And you'd have to trade skinner in the offseason.

Pickford would have to come back. And the cap numbers have to be equal.

but this feels more like a lateral move.

Sens would do this because they need healthy forwards.

Demko at 50 per ent retained for their 1st. Thats this playoffs and next for 2.5 mill. Injury or not that's worth a swing.
