The entire second line really stepped up. I think/hope a victory of this type may be just what the team needs to go on a run. Raymond needs to dig deep and find his game.

We need 2 kaspers. Elmer not as good on top line but Marco
Clicked like crazy with Kane and debrincat. Hoping Lombardi can bring similar skillset

Good game, nice turn-around. This should be a motivator going forward. Mrazek looked good.

The thing that impressed me was the physicality. That's been sorely missing, but we desperately need it against FLA & OTT-like teams. There's no way to be a sustained threat if you can't grind it out. That being said, I had no real issue with Mo not engaging in the last minutes of the 3d. I think it was smart, actually.....there was nothing to truly gain. However, he's been less physical since 4N - may be nursing an injury, but he's going to be a target for the rest of the season, as is Rayzor, Kane, and Larkin.

The Cat, Kane, and Kasper line was just insane. To me, that's a steady line that you just keep rolling. Kasper's finding his way and the return is only going to grow. He's probably not going to get us 40G+, but he'll get inside the bumper and trash up the net-front which is what we need for the rest of the season.

When I told my wife there were 5 “scuffles” at the end and the ref essentially just threw everyone out of the game she said, “I might start watching again”. More than just physicality, it was the impetus (to me) of teammates standing up for each other and landing hard checks. Edvinsson may be a bit stronger than I thought he was. Mrazek made a couple of 10 bell saves and even did the “windmill” with one. I reallly didn’t know what to expect out of Smith, and Shine was going to town at the end. Kane led the way at the other end of the ice. McLellan said it well, “I thought we played better in Ottawa, tonight we let in 3 goals but someone told me it’s a win, enjoy it”. The fans definitely saw their money’s worth. I can’t remember that many ejections in the modern era. It was nuts

My biggest take away from the last two games is maybe we found our 2C in Kasper. As the remaining games play out and if Kasper can continue to drive the second line that could be the biggest development of the season. When Copp returns next year he can slide back to 3C where he belongs and Compher can take a seat in the press box. I like the insurance of Mrzek as I’m certain Lyon will want a raise at multiple years. Smith seems to be the type of player we have been missing the last 4-5 years or more. If he can continue to add a physical presence he might be worth brining back instead of Motte. Next up, is seeing Sandin Pelikka in 6+ games this season to see if he can start next year in Detroit so we can wave Holl, Gustafsson or both. Keep pushing for the last spot while keeping an eye on 25-26 where we not only make the playoffs but win a round!!!!

To many of the reader’s credit ( I think you were in there) Kasper had earned a spot in pre season. Didn’t happen right away. Then he gets called up and relegated. McLellan comes in and puts him on the wing of the top line. Kasper is a special prospect and a definite reason for some hope down the middle. Lombardi and Danielson both want badly to be in the mix and both have different skill sets. But Kasper absolutely grabbed the opportunity and ran with it. Nothing but Kudos. I am anxious to see ASP. I’m probably not giving him enough credit on physicality, but his offensive skill looks as high as any D prospect we’ve had since the salary cap.

It was actually a fun game to watch for a change. I'd add that Raymond is still playing really well, and has been dominant, but the puck just hasn't gone in the net. Streaks like this happen to all scorers, it's just that the timing of this one is bad. Most of the time, it starts with a few misses, which then makes its way to the brain, then the brain starts overthinking, then the overthinking brain tells the confidence receptors that they suck, then the confidence receptors feel shame, but tell the brain to F off, which starts a big brain battle. The battle within the brain is either resolved by time or luck. Let's hope for Raymond, it's luck.

What I love about his game is what I love about Marner’s game. He can open up ice just skating around. I think he hit his 45th assist last night. That pick just looks better and better. I think he puts a lot of pressure on himself as well and when he doesn’t meet his own expectations he’s unhappy. That’s a tough line to walk but definitely nice to see someone who expects to be better. Very fun to watch. Curious to see he and ASP interact on the power play. Both have similar skating, could be a lot of fun
