Made worse by no penalty being called and a weak response by his teammates

Crap, that fkn sucks. Ugly ugly hit.

This is exactly what we were afraid of here and why he needed to be traded ASAP.

I think Lafreniere looked like the guy from the playoffs last year and the first few weeks this year, was very encouraging

As I mentioned in the other thread, if it takes playing him with Miller to unlock who can potentially be, then this needs to be the play moving forward. Miller must have some strong af shoulders to carry LAF and Zib.

Completely unnecessary, totally fckd up. With his history and the way he looked after that hit, he could be out for a long long time.

yeah, I know a lot of people here tend to talk about the "post-Mika NYR world" coming soon but I very much doubt it

I think they'll be encouraged by how these guys have fit in since JT Miller got here, and will wanna keep that going. and then maybe they can add Gabe Perreault to the mix next year

They need a center for Gabe though. Trocheck aint it. Good player, but not what Id call a 2C, plus he will be 32 this summer.

I can't see anyone, even the seemingly tone deaf Lavi, splitting up that line after such an improved performance.
And I get that the precursor period was extended waaay longer than one would hope, but I think we can stop thinking of Zibby's play as a temporary boost from Miller. 20 points over 17 games. He seems to have been reignited and is maintaining his return to form!! ❤️

Because hes not the driving force of the line. Miller is taking all the heat, leaving more space for Zib.

I wonder, can Zib keep this up playing RW with Panarin and Trocheck, because ideally, when Gabe gets here, Gabe should play with Miller.

Capitals fans are already talking like Leonard is part of their playoff mix once the BC season is officially done. I really wonder what the Rangers plan with Gabe is.

If we make the playoffs, personally I want him here ASAP. All hands on deck.

Gee, really?? You think that's not known?
Did I say Zib was driving that all by himself? Although, he was 100% the driver of that line last night. Why would they intentionally (frank) up what's working? I didn't say I would expect Zibby to play as well without Miller. My point was that he's engaged and playing the right way again.
Gabe is not coming here now. There has been no sign, outside of this board, that he will be here this year. That has nothing to do with what I was saying.

Dude, take a chill pill, Im not antagonizing you, just stating the obvious but also looking forward because its very unlikely that Zib will get traded.

Im not talking about Gabe this year, Im talking about next year. That was a separate thought, relative to the current state of the team.

Whether Gabe comes this year, next year or stays in school another year, he’s a fantastic playmaker who will make his linemates better.

I don’t think it’s bad at all for him to play with Trocheck who has become one of the best faceoff men in the league if that’s how it ends up going early in Gabe’s career. They’ll have the puck and Gabe will perform his magic.

I dont think its necessarily bad for Gabe to play with Trocheck (eventually we are going to need to address the C position though), but Im not crazy about Panarin and Gabe on the same line. 2 small, skilled forwards who arent particularly good defensively. I dont know... wtf do I know.

Well, your post read completely contrarian to what I was getting at.
We keep talking about Zib as if waiting for the other shoe to drop and him to fade back into sucking. But, it's been 20% of a season now on this current streak. At what point do we start giving him some credit for turning it around? Next season, probably. And I won't say that's not somewhat justified. But, I'm starting to feel like maybe it's not quite fair.

Trocheck is the next one still getting a raw deal. He is getting punished for having a career year last season.
I just did a comparison of his season to Sam Bennett's and they are largely identical. Yet, general consensus is Troch isn't good enough and Bennett is a prize to covet.

Yeah I don’t know. I stopped trying to understand why we always have to hate our own players a long time ago
