To answer your question does it really matter in the long run? I keep Tyson as he is younger potentially more upside. Cates is what he is at this juncture.

When does Cates get his extension?

When does Torts get hos extension?

Foerster and I wouldn't give it a second thought. 1st round pick/scorer with potential vs 5th round 3rd or 4th line center.

Foerster no doubt. Also no doubt that the Flyers are in love with Cates.

Also, what is the call-up rule and does it take effect after the trade deadline?

Foerster is the choice for me. I do beleve he could be a really good top 6 winger. He'll need a good center to play with to maxinize his talent.

Speaking of centers. This Frondell guy is on a roll right now. Just a hot streak or concrete development. Outside of winning the lottery, depeding where the Flyers finish I expect the pick to be Hagens, Frondell, or O'Brien.

Continuing the Grebenkin discussion. Wasn’t he a 5th round pick? Is even projected to be an NHL player? Pelletier was a first round pick and there’s barely any mention of him.

Foerster, but I’m listening regardless.

Danny and the brass love that 3rd line. For them it’s really moving the needle forward of where they thought they’d be. The pieces are falling into place and it’s going to be time to strike. Holmgren and Clarke are salivating

Foerster any day. I don't have any issues with Cates but the Flyers need offense and while their stats are pretty similar, I think Foerster will provide more offense in the long run.

Lol it's hilarious how so many think those guys are still influencing the team. Yes, they were more involved a few year ago, but aside from a few events here and there, they are not actively involved anymore.

They are still senior advisors to ownership that knows zero about hockey. Read that again and let it sink in. This is who Comcast turns to. If it wasn’t they wouldn’t still be holding those titles.

Clarke pretty much hand picked the last GM and no doubt had a hand in suggesting Briere to be his understudy.

Do you really think Comcast is making any hockey decisions? These are still the guys they turn to for guidance because Comcast is so disconnected from what they actually own.

Comcast only cares about selling tickets, merch, etc. I highly doubt that the old fossils/bullies have anything to do with Gritty and crab fries. I don't agree with everything that Jonesy, DB, etc are doing, but I think at this point, they are making the decisions. Yes, Clarkie definitely had a hand in the Chuckles hire, but that was almost 7 years ago. It's time to move on from the myth of the "bullies" influence. The Flyers are one of the softest teams in the league for many years now.

Doesnt matter where they are picked anymore. Grebenkin seems like the higher ceiling player right now. Grebenkin is also 21 where Pelletier is 23. Less runway left for Pelle. Hes a guy they should be re-signing at league min and hoping they can turn him into something. Third liner would be the expectation.

Foerster could be a 30 goalscorer at some point. Cates is having a nice season though.

I think you put Foerster in more offensive situations and he would produce 25 goals regularly. Middle six winger who plays a good overall game.

Pelletier has been a no show thus far in my opinion. He was supposed to be this "energy" guy. Haven't really seen much from him.

In the context of the rebuild, this question is irrelevant. I like both Cates and Foerster, but for the Flyers to rebuild they need to improve their top 6, and neither Foerster nor Cates are top 6 forwards. Currently the only legitimate top 6 fowards the Flyers have are TK and Michkov. I am not going to consider Tippet a legitimate top 6 forward until he proves to me he can play consistently. This was my biggest complaint about Frost and I am going to be consistent and judge Tippet the exact same way. Thus the rebuild should focus on getting a 1C, 2C and at least 1 legitimate top 6 LW. Foerster, Cates, Brink, etc. are irrelevant in this regard.

no need to keep Pelletier. he has shown nothing. though hard to show anything with 5 minutes a night and ND on your line. another case of mismanaging players.

Honestly, with good centers and even an average power play, the Flyers should have 4 30 goal scorers on this team, with Michkov, Tippet, TK and Foerster. Its hard to score 30 when you have a bottom of the league PP year after year.
