OTT gets their ass handed to them by COL, MTL down 4-1 in 3rd, scores 3 strait goals to tie and go to OT.

they lost in the shoot out but they got a point.

OTT completely sat back in the 3rd an NJD almost came back, they need to work on that they need to be hungry for the whole 60 minutes.

Wrong, wrong, wrong.

Teams need to learn how to protect a lead. It is not always about outscoring or even outplaying the opposing team. It is about learning how to shut down the other guys. It is exactly the same thing for setting up the stretch drive heading into the playoffs.

This team has not been required to do this for a long time. They clearly need to improve. But, if they are going to have any success in the playoffs they are going to need to know how to protect a lead.

Jacques Martin always had a great explanation for what it is all about. He said, something along the lines that there is nothing harder on a team than having to chase a lead. He wanted his teams to stay organized and make the other guys work. Sometimes it might look like you're giving something up. But, it is a formula for winning hockey when it matters.

Team's defending leads is kind of funny. When it doesn't work you hear how they should have been attacking. It worked last night, so you could say it was just a solid road win.

We've certainly seen that blow up in this team's face in the past. It's really different now though that they have a goalie they can rely on.

I hate defending the lead. How many times do we see teams sit on a 2-0/3-0 lead in the playoffs and blow it? Yes we have Ullmark, and it’s a definite confidence boost..but if we end up in the playoffs, we don’t know what Ullmark we’ll be getting.

The Sens were the better team last night..wasn’t until they started sitting back where I thought this could be trouble. Lazar had himself a really good game
